• This IS the thing to do in Cagliari

  We do not enjoy the touristy areas unless there is a specific attraction. So when I saw this tour we were very excited. It did not disappoint. First, I noticed our booking had the prior day and we were not to be in port until the following day. My husband messaged Viator with no resolution. But then he direct messaged the tour and Valentina quickly responded. It was no problem to switch it to the following day and use the same ticket. We were so relieved and grateful to her for accommodating us. Now the tour…. the car is amazing! Valentina is amazing! She is a local with immense knowledge of Cagliari and Sardinia history. We saw and learned so much. She gave us time to get out and explore certain sites. This tour would also be a good option for someone who is not able to or doesn’t like to walk for long periods of time but still allows for you to see many sites. Actually, I think it was far better than a standard tour as I feel we saw so much more than we would have with a large group. At the tour conclusion we asked Valentina for a restaurant recommendation and we had a wonderful authentic lunch. I would do this again if ever back in Cagliari and I highly recommend it.

  This was the standout highlight for our time in Cagliari. I booked this as a part of the holiday for my wife’s birthday and it was fabulous. Valentina is an absolute star and such a knowledgeable guide driving her families vintage fiat. She took us on a great tour of the city which we would never have been able to do on foot. She explained so much about the city and how there were 3 walls built. The cathedral was a marvel plus the streets in Villanova lined with flowers plus so much more. This trip was so good we loved how she navigated driving through the narrow streets with ease. If you’re in the area and want a tour with a difference do not hesitate to book this.   This was the perfect way to start our first full day in Cagliari. My partner and I felt like we got a much better understanding of the city, and this tour helped us navigate the city with so much more confidence throughout the rest of our time in Cagliari. There were great stops at some breathtaking views and anecdotes shared along the way that made it clear Valentina not only knew the history of the city, but what it's like today. We booked this because we thought the car was cute and it would be a fun thing to tell people we did, but it ended up helping us see so much more of the city and feel like we really got an insider's view.

  What a gem of an experience. If you want to see Cagliari without the steep climbs or the cookie-cutter feel of a big group tour, this is the way to do it. Riding through the city in a classic 1964 Fiat felt like stepping into vintage Italy—comfortable, charming, and absolutely atching. People kept stopping to photograph the car as we passed, which made the whole thing even more fun. But the real magic came from our guide, Valentina. She’s warm, genuine, and deeply passionate about her city. Her knowledge of Cagliari’s history is impressive, but even more impressive is the joy she brings to sharing it. She took us to beautiful viewpoints, historic churches, and tucked-away corners we never would’ve found on our own. It felt personal, relaxed, and wonderfully authentic. If you’re visiting during the hot summer months or simply want a shorter, more intimate excursion, this tour is ideal. And the best part? It was a fraction of the price of a group ship’s excursion.   What a find. This was the perfect way to experience Cagliari without climbing steep hills or getting swept into a big “canned” tour. Riding through the city in a classic 1964 Fiat—beautifully maintained and surprisingly comfortable—felt like stepping into vintage Italy. Other tourists kept snapping photos of the car as we zipped through the narrow streets, which added to the fun. The real highlight, though, was our guide, Valentina. Warm, genuine, and deeply knowledgeable, she brings her hometown’s history to life. It’s clear she loves what she does, and that energy makes the whole experience shine. She took us to scenic overlooks, charming neighborhoods, and several churches—places we never would’ve found on a standard excursion. We learned so much and never once felt rushed. For anyone wanting a shorter, more personal tour, especially in the summer heat, this is absolutely the way to go. And here’s the bonus: compared to the ship’s excursions, this was a bargain.   Valentina and her gorgeous car were the highlight of our time Cagliari! A phenomenal way to see the city and as I was travelling with my parents in their 70s it saved some aching joints by being able to relax in this vintage vehicle! We loved the time with Valentina and thoroughly enjoyed her tour!

  There is absolutely no better way to experience a city than driving around with a local tour guide - excited about sharing her home city!! Today’s adventure in Cagliari became even more real in a 1960’s beautifully maintained family-owned Fiat, hosted by an incredibly warm, personable and knowledgeable owner, Valentina!!
