On the way to Berat visitors will make a stop to Belshi Lake which is a tranquil freshwater lake in central Albania, surrounded by rolling hills and lush greenery—an ideal spot for a relaxing break with scenic views.
Berat Castle crowns the UNESCO-protected city of Berat, offering panoramic views and a journey through centuries of history. Known as the “City of a Thousand Windows,” Berat captivates with its well-preserved Ottoman architecture and vibrant cultural charm.
On the way back to Tirana, about 13 km from Berat City we will stop at Cobo Winery, a golden opportunity for you to explore and taste Albanian high-quality wines by using local grape varieties.

What To Expect
Belsh
About 40 min away from Tirana, on our way to Berat we will be doing about 30 min stop in Belsh, which is known for its beautiful lakes and endless hills. Here will be having a quick pit stop for the use of facilities, a quick leg stretch and take in the beautiful panorama.
Berat Castle
Berat Castle is a fortress overlooking the town of Berat. It is built on a rocky hill on the left bank of the river Osum. It is situated at an elevation of 214 metres. This will be the first attraction we visit in Berat right after Belsh, approximately 1h 20min away. The fortress in its present state, even though considerably damaged, remains a magnificent sight. The buildings inside the fortress were built during the 13th century and because of their characteristic architecture are preserved as cultural monuments.

5.00We had a fabulous day out with Izet - he is very knowledgeable about his country and the day out is a good mix of seeing the country, visiting sites and of course wine tasting. Izet was very generous making sure we had water and fruit during the tour and the ride was very comfortable.

5.00I first booked and went on the Mt Gamti and Bovilla Lake tour and I was so happy with this first tour that I ended up booking to go to Berat and Lake Belshi with him that night for two days later. I had an absolutely amazing day with Izet again. He took the scenic route instead of the highway, through all the olive tree groves and lakes. The Berat Castle is fantastic and interesting, I highly recommend to visit here on your trip to Albania, but especially with Izet. He took more great photos for me as well. We didn't end up doing the winery which is listed on the tour due to the season, but went instead to a wonderful little restaurant and I tried some traditional Albanian food that I really enjoyed. I loved my experiences and time with Izet. Not only do you get a knowledgeable and passionate guide to explore Albania but also a friend. I would book with Izet everytime I come back to Albania in the future. Thank you Izet so much for the two wonderful day trips, I cannot express my gratitude to you enough!!
