Eriko was an incredibly engaging and helpful tour guide. Her English was excellent, and I also really enjoyed her patience with me in practicing my own poor Japanese language skills. She was great with our tween and teenage children as well. Only thing that we did not enjoy about the trip was completely outside of her control, it was raining during most of the tour and we arrived at the castle at the same time as a very large tour bus apparently. This meant that the area where you can remove your shoes to enter the castle was overcrowded to the point of being impossible. We could not get to a dry area to remove our shoes and place them in the thoughtfully provided plastic bags. In order to enter the castle, we would’ve had to remove our shoes in the wet mud and gravel and then I guess spend the day in wet socks. Again, this is absolutely no fault of hers, but we didn’t get to see the castle because of this, and I was sad that she had already wasted the money on the entrance tickets. I wonder if it would be possible to start the castle portion of the tour earlier to beat the buses? Not sure how feasible this would be. Maybe meeting at the shuttle bus terminal if most of the passengers are on the cruise would save a lot of time? We’re going later in the day after they’ve left? She had helpful photographs and told us a lot about the local cuisine, including some photos and that came in very handy when it was time to eat lunch and the food hall. Lunch was absolutely delicious and she was incredibly helpful in helping each family navigate the food hall and the ordering process, which could be a little confusing. Overall recommend this tour.

it was a drizzly rainy day in Kochi and we had a day off a cruise ship for the half day tour. It was a good time and guides were pleasant. Eriko and Natauka (?) did a good job of getting us from place to place. The castle was OK. It was good that we saw a castle, don't have to do another one. We climbed all the way to the top of the tower along with a large crowd of other people, this involved very steep stairways with slippery railings. Then, we ended up at Hirome Market. We were advised on getting some very tasty food. Loved the bonito tuna sashimi with salt. The eel was also pretty good as was the yuzu drink with soda. My wife had some nice warm sake, oh, and the deep fried sweet potato was also good. It was a worthwhile trip.

What a fantastic time we had with our tour guide - so friendly and knowledable about Kochi. We visited the castle , a shrine and walked around the town having places of interest pointed out. We walked through a large market type shopping mall and went for food inside a small market . The guide helped us with our food and drink choices which were delicious. Well worth doing.

Thank you so much Kristen for leading such a wonderful tour of Kobe! We really appreciated how you tailored the experience to the sites we wanted to see. The Kobe beef dinner at the restaurant you recommended was fantastic—the food was absolutely delicious, and it was such a fun experience. We also took your suggestion the next day and tried the local ramen restaurant, which was equally great. Your recommendations truly enhanced our time in Kobe. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and love of the city with us. It made all the difference in making our visit memorable.

Loved our Kochi tour! It started out a little slow, but as we walked and learned about the Kochi highlights, got to know the tour guides, and the other guests, the tour kept getting better! Loved the market, Shopping, eating Bonita and other Kochi food specialities! Those two even got this group of retirees dancing in the streets in Kimonos! Thanks for a great experience in Kochi!

Perfect half day excursion, and a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the bigger cities. Erico was the ideal guide: punctual, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and just fun to be with.

I would never book with this vendor!!!!! We do not speak Japanese so we gave the meeting point address to the taxi driver. When we arrived the tour guide was no where to be found. We come to find out the meeting place was not as the address said but at a train station. After many texts(no phone was answered) we were told we could wait until the tour operator came to where we were were but at this point it was an hour past the meeting time so we asked to cancel. He refused to refund our money. The worst part was the tour operator said they had sent us the meeting place beforehand….i checked what’s app, email , messages and could not find this notification he spoke about. I’ve taken many Viator tours without ever having an issue. I don’t understand why you would have a meeting place listed on the app in Japanese, which is not the meeting place…..
