Discover the valley of 5 castles in the heart of Black Périgord. By canoe or kayak, go down the Dordogne at your own pace and enjoy a unique moment of relaxation in nature. You will meet the wonderful castles dating back to medieval times as well as their colorful historic villages. Classified as a world biosphere reserve, the Dordogne will allow you to see wild animals such as kingfishers, cygnons or even frogs.

What To Expect
For all rentals, the equipment will be provided (lifejacket, paddles, boat). In addition, some advice will be given on your descent and an initiation can be offered on request. In addition, you will receive a paper guide of your descent to orient you once on the water. Finally, for transportation a shuttle will take you from the base to the starting point of your course.

5.00Great experience! The place is really beautiful with its cliffs and shaded surroundings. Moreover, our car was stuck and we had to call a tow truck; Kevin was impeccable at his job and we are really happy with the experience. Go for it! ;-)

5.00Really good experience- great cafe at the end as well. You can have the boats all day - would recommend taking snacks and drinks as there weren’t many places to stop along the way.

5.00Easy to book, equipment in good condition, lovely paddle down the river. There's quite a strong current, so there are parts you barely need to paddle. Note they're doing work on the river between Castlenaud and Beynac, so you can't paddle all the way to Beynac at the moment. It's owned by the Canoes Loisirs company, so at the moment you'll park and pick up your gear at Vitrac. There is an hourly shuttle (on the hour) from Castlenaud back to Vitrac. Staff are friendly, but, as others have mentioned, don't expect much of a briefing.

5.00Easy registration and straight forward transfer from Beynac to our start point at Vitrac. Also easy process for getting our equipment. Not much in the way of health and safety checks or advice but we know what we’re letting ourselves in for. Then onto the 16Km paddle down the river - what a stunning setting! Plenty of time to tackle the trip. Could be done in 3 hours albeit you can take as much as about 6 and a half hours (return by 1700) - so plenty of time to stop at one of the many snack bars or stunning villages on the way. We had all weathers on our trip but this did not dampen our experience. Thoroughly enjoyable.

5.00Friendly welcome and efficient service! Bus shuttle and top organization! Check-out of the ride is at a fixed time but we take all the time necessary to make its descent at its own pace. Many small beaches and snack for small breaks. A great time with your family! Dogs are accepted on canoes.
