Brigitte de Cuyper from Get‑a‑Guide was born and raised in the Villers‑Bretonneux area, and her deep local knowledge shines through. She speaks beautiful English, has a playful sense of humour that we Aussies really appreciated, and explains everything in clear, simple terms. Brigitte collected us from our hotel in Amiens at 9am and returned us at 6pm. The day was absolutely packed with visits to significant sites, and at each stop she took the time to explain exactly what had happened there. She brought maps, photos, and well‑researched material to help us understand the events and the experiences of both the soldiers and the local people caught up in the wars. I cannot recommend Brigitte highly enough. The tour was excellent value, and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed spending the day with her and hearing her recount the history with such clarity and passion. It’s obvious she dedicates a great deal of time to research, and we couldn’t fault a single thing. Without a guide, we would have seen the memorials and signage — but Brigitte’s explanations made everything far more meaningful. Thank you for your fabulous work Brigitte.

This tour was worth every cent. It was informative, educational and made relevant to us as Australians due to Brigitte’s professional and knowledgeable manner. I have done many tours in my time and this was above and beyond.

Absolutely incredible, but very sobering. To see and understand how so many people gave their lives to help another country will live with us forever. Our guide, Brigitte, had an unbelievable knowledge of WW1 history, recounting some amazing facts and true stories of life in the trenches 110 years ago.

Brigitte was the most knowledgeable and informative tour guide I’ve seen. The tour is a must for any Australian wanting to get a sense of the Australian sacrifices made in WW1. A great experience, highly recommended.

First of all the tour can be very personalised. If you are staying at Amiens, it is possiible that Brigitte will pick you up at your hotel. Ask her. Viator says pick up is at the Holiday Inn but this is a fall back position. If you use this, wait in the foyer and not on the road where the tour buses park like we did. Second, if you have relatives buried in the general area of the tour, Brigitte may be able to add those cemetaries to the tour. Ask her. Thirdly, if you have details of your relatives then Brigitte will do some research and may be able put your relative's actions and sacrifice into context. I didn't and Brigette spent time while we were in the John Monash centre looking up details on my two ancestors. Advise her. The other thing that may not be immediately apparent is that the tour vehicle is seven seater ie Brigitte plus six, and no more than four is the preference so the tour is quite focussed. In this case the tour was Australia focussed so many of the battle sites where Australians fought were visited and a compelling and vivid narrative described those action from the perspective of both sides. Our tour ended up being rushed at the end, and perhaps shortened, due to the other party's train arrangements but I do not feel that we were shortchanged. If you are intetested in Australia's actions and Australian sacrifices made in France during World War 1, then this is the value for money tour for you.

Brigitte was very friendly and informative. She had many visuals that helped to explain the sights we visited. She has an extensive local knowledge and knew some great places to visit. Brigitte was also easy to talk to and never boring. There were umbrellas for us to borrow as well.

A wonderful tour of the Western Front. My focus was to visit the grave of a relative at one of the minor cemeteries. Brigitte added this to the tour as well as researching my relative finding a few things I didn’t previously know, including some extra information on the circumstances of his death. We covered all of the major sites listed giving a greater understanding of how the First World War affected this area. Some beautiful country which must have then seemed like hell. Bridgette as a great knowledge and understanding of the war in the place she calls home.

We had an unforgettable tour of World War 1 sites, focused on Australian memorials. Brigitte was thoughtful, very knowledgeable and accomodating. Her tour is small and relaxed. We highly recommend her tour- definitely a highlight of our visit in France. We leave with a lot to think about and reflect on.
