What To Expect
Golden Circle Route
Golden Circle tour is the tour to take if you only take one tour in Iceland! The duration of the stops vary, but it is (very roughly) at least 30 min at each of the main sights.
Thingvellir National Park
You will take a short walk through Thingvellir, a National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site, located directly between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. The history here is also fascinating; Thingvellir was the original site of what is now the longest-running parliament in the world, formed in 930 AD.

5.00We booked this small group tour with Gateway to Iceland and had the most fabulous time! Due to our good luck we only had 4 of us on the tour. The sites we visited were fantastic but the best part of our tour was our wonderful guide, Rakell. Rakell went above and beyond in all aspects. Her knowledge and enthusiasm for her wonderful country added to our totally positive experience.

5.00Absolutely the very best tour you can do in Iceland ! Our guide ‘Gummi’ made our day so much fun. His depth of knowledge about his home country was incredible. He kindly showed us so much in one day that we felt like locals by the end of the tour !

5.00Thanks for picking us at our cruise terminal. It was quite convenient to meet there. Odin was our tour guide and he was quite informative and accommodating. We saw everything promised and more. There was sufficient time to walk around and see everything at the Geysir, Gullfoss Falls, National Park, and time for a lunch break. He even stopped at an ice cream place and in Reykjavik we had time go inside the Hallgrímskirkja church.

5.00We were a large family group in Iceland at the tail end of a cruise, and did this tour on our next-to-last day in port. Pickup and drop off were seamless at the cruise terminal, and we had a gem of a guide in Gummi. He had great stories and provided so much great insight into everything we visited — and it was neat hearing it all from someone clearly proud of his Icelandic heritage. I feel like we got a little extra knowledge because of it. We also had a few kids on the tour between my family and a different family on board, and Gummi did a great job engaging them and even stopped to let them feed some horses. This is a great way to hit the Golden Circle and it feels like a lot of stuff but it didn’t feel rushed. Thanks for a great time!
