Thingvellir National Park. This rugged landscape has been shaped by thousands of years of volcanic activity, resulting in towering cliffs, deep canyons, and crystal-clear lakes fed by underground springs. The park's many hiking trails wind through ancient lava fields, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside
Gullfoss Falls

We picked the option of pickup from the bus station. The tour guide informed us that a large group was coming from the port. The company had sent us reminder emails to be prompt for an 8 am departure, Unfortunately, the tour company did not live up to the standard they expected of their customers. Our group had to wait 16 minutes for the port group to arrive. If one has a large group, common senses dictates, extra time needs to given to meet the deadlines imposed on your bus station customers. Our guide was Flossi & the driver was Siggi. Flossi seemed to be a burnt out tour guide. He shared the information he needed to share & walked us to the areas he needed to but no more. In the 6 hours, Flossi led the group, he never once asked if anyone had any questions. When he had to walk or should I say briskly accompanied the group to a site, he never waited for the group to be reasonably close to him. I was towards the front & his comment was, “I think they see me.” There was a family with several very young children & a few older folks who struggled to keep up with Flossie’s pace. The waterfall was just beautiful & Flossie gave the group 40” to proceed up & down a fairly steep walk while the geothermal site which was fairly flat gave the group 1 hour to view. In my opinion, the time allotted for these 2 sights should have been switched. At one of the stops, 2 members of the group were about 15” late returning to the bus- now a total of 31 behind schedule. I recognize this is not Flossie’s fault but he could have reminded the group about punctuality for future stops but he never said a word. Between poor time management on the part of the company & Flossie’s indifference to the group, this tour left a lot to be desired.

Awaiting refund. Given incorrect information by Viator and missed the pick up. Regardless of whether or not I get a full refund we have missed a bucket list trip in Iceland that we are never likely to have an opportunity again. We were not the only person on our cruise to be let down by Viator.

Fantastic day tour. Excellent and informed commentary from Leifur and great driving by Tomasz. Outstanding scenary, and enough time to visit all three sites. I’m a brisk walker and managed to find enough time to walk around. Highly recommended for visitors to Iceland on a tight schedule.

Unnur is a wonderful guide who provided great insights into Iceland, its people, its history, and the varied places we visited. She was immediately active when a man reported his wife gets disoriented and had trouble returning to the bus. Kajus drove us beautifully through the otherworldly landscape. A dau I will long remember! Takk!

Excellent tour of the Icelandic countryside. The tour guide was knowledgeable and low key, with interesting historical facts. Three stops with restrooms and refreshments at all three. The 10am - 430pm time frame is the perfect length tour for all age groups. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour!

We self-drove this tour and made the following stops: We started from our hotel in Hveragerdi and our first stop was Thingvellir National Park where we stopped to see the tectonic plates. This is unlike anywhere else I have ever seen. The scale of it was immense and it was so exciting to see and set foot between the two areas. It was extremely cold and the waterfall was frozen. However, my son visited with school last year (same time of year) and the waterfall was flowing so it was nice for him to see the difference. We drove on to see the Geysir which was so interesting to see. It goes off every 5-10 minutes and was well worth the wait to see it shoot up in the air. There is a visitor centre here with a cafe and shop if you need food or supplies. Next stop was Gulfoss waterfall, only 10 minutes' drive away. Now this was absolutely spectacular!! It was very frozen in places but there was still movement and it was my favourite thing to see on this trip. The size of it was so unexpected - it's massive! It was also absolutely freezing here at this time of year - I only took one photo as my hands hurt after taking my gloves off! It was so worth it though. There are several viewing points and we would have stayed longer if it wasn't so cold. The last place we stopped was the Kerid Crater. This was well worth seeing. Once again, we didn't stay long owing to the temperature but we enjoyed seeing it. There is a walkway high up around the top of the crater and also steps down into it and down to the lake. Both the steps and lake were frozen solid the day we visited it. We didn't attempt the steps as it looked treacherous but some people had gone down there, I assume with Yak Trax on their feet! All in all, this was a great trip. Easy to do on your own (weather permitting - keep checking your apps) with beautiful landscapes to see all the way round and we saw lots of Icelandic horses which was a bonus. This circuit is an absolute must-see and you can pack a lot into a day with plenty of time to explore each highlight.

Great day, we've had a lot of fun. The Tony guide was perfect, telling us stories, moments of Icelandic history, geographical and geological explanations... My daughter and I loved the icy waterfalls, the geyser, the moonscapes, with this white coat of snow and ice! This is to be seen at least once in his life!
