What To Expect
Kootenay National Park
A land of ice and fire, Kootenay National Park is a place of contrasts, with valleys and canyons carved by glaciers and grasslands marked by fire. Take a scenic drive along its historic highway.
Marble Canyon
Just over the continental divide, where the Rockies cross from Alberta into British Columbia, lays one of our favourite local secrets in Marble Canyon. Awaiting us here is an easy 1.3 kilometre out and back trail that crosses several bridges providing amazing views across the canyon and down into the startling turquoise water of Tokumm Creek below. If you like a learning moment woven into on your hikes, stop to marvel at how this little creek carved through the creamy coloured sedimentary rock over millennia to create the canyon. Otherwise, just marvel at the beauty.

5.00On June 26, 2026, my husband and I had a great privilege to explore highlights of Yoho national Park under the knowledgeable and kind guidance of our masterful guide, Nolan. Canada’s natural beauty is breathtaking - and while it can stand alone on its own visual merits… Having someone like Nolan to teach guide and enjoy along side of you, enhances the experience exponentially. On our tour, we saw varius wildlife (Grizzly Bear and more!) The best part was that he was just as excited and exuberant about the sightings as we were. We had a myriad of questions which he effortlessly. Like most tourists, we feed off of the energy of our tour guide, and he certainly gave us an energy of loving the beauty of Canada and its people. Another bonus to our trip was Nolan was accompanied by a trainee, Georgia (sidenote - she was so fun, kind, and positive… She’s gonna make a great guide). This was a bonus because we were able to see firsthand the care and standard that is set for guides as they master their craft. Nolan (& Georgia), thank you for a day beyond compare.

5.00This was a fabulous day with Liam, our driver and guide. He took us to some beautiful locations and gave us excellent commentary on the geography/geology/history of the area. A truly memorable day with the added bonus of seeing one grizzly bear alongside the main highway in the morning and a mother black bear and four tiny cubs alongside the road up to Mount Norquay.

5.00We did the Hidden Frozen Gems tour through Yoho and Kootenay National Parks and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. The scenery was stunning! What really made the experience though was our guide, Gini. She was fantastic from start to finish — knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about the area. My mum found some of the snowy sections a bit challenging, and Gini was incredibly patient and supportive, helping her through safely and making sure she still got to enjoy everything without feeling rushed or uncomfortable. It’s one of those tours where you feel looked after but still get a real sense of adventure. I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
