Enjoy your guide, born and raised in Normandy, from a family who lived through the occupation and landing near Lisieux. After meeting you at 7am with some croissants and coffees to start your day, go off to explore the beaches. As your guide drives you to Arromanches (approx 2-hour drive), see the port British built to organize the landing of the troops in June 1944. Later have lunch at a very nice restaurant with a great view over the beach. Head to the American Cemetery in Colleville sur Mer, where many gave their lives. Continue on to Longues sur Mer to see the Batteries the Germans used to protect the coast from the Allies. After, go the Pointe du Hoc to see how the United States Rangers climbed the cliffs to disarm the German Defence. If time allows, visit the famous for the paratroopers who jumped to reinforce the landing operations on the coast. You will then be driven back to your hotel In Normandy or to the Caen or Bayeux train station to go back to Paris. Plenty of sightseeing along the route.

For the price of a private tour was a joke! We where never notified that the original guide would not be taking us on the tour. We requested a English speaking tour guide, the guild barely spoke English at all, very hard to understand. We paid for our own entrance fees, he was supposed too. He did pick us up at the hotel and the van was clean. Will never use Viator again!!!!!

Igor was extremely knowledgeable and full of information. From the time he picked us up in Paris to the time he dropped us off many hours later he was engaging, interested to know us, and made this tour a highlight of a wonderful vacation. Good pacing, attentive to needs, an excellent resource. Igor is also very friendly and has broad interests. Highly recommended!

If you want a wonderful once in a lifetime experience, book this tour through Viator and ask for Igor. He was simply fantastic. He picked us up from Paris and drove the 3 1/2 hour trip to Normandy. The car was clean and comfortable and equipped with water, pillows, blankets and a DVD player to watch era-related movies. Igor was knowledgeable and learned very quickly our particular interests so he could highlight the events and places to what we wanted. He went above and beyond and we so appreciated his making this a excursion one for the ages. We travel a lot and Viator will be the first place we look for tours.

This was the highlight of our time in England and France. Igor, our tour guide, was a storehouse of knowledge about WW II. We only had time for the one-day tour. Igor picked us up at our hotel and managed to fit in a comprehensive tour in one day. We ended the day at the Normandy cemetery. I hope we can return one day and that Igor can once again show us even more.
