What To Expect
Paris
07:00 Hotel pick up from Paris. We offer as well pick up from Caen, Bayeux etc at 09:30. Departure to Pointe du Hoc with its Ragers monument. It takes about 3,5 to 4 hours (305 km) including one short stop at a rest area.
Pointe du Hoc Ranger Monument
10:45 - 11:25 Pointe du Hoc, a prominent cliff between Utah and Omaha Beach. This point was important because it was the highest land between Omaha and Utah beaches and could thus fire upon both of them. The site was a gun battery, fortified with concrete casemates and gun pits, forming part of Hitler’s Atlantic Wall defences. You will learn about the 2nd Ranger battalion sacrifice to take this crucial gun battery on the cliffs of Omaha Beach on June 6th 1944. Many of the original fortifications and bunkers remain on the site and are open to the public, including the fire control casemate, on top of which there is a monument to the 2nd Ranger Battalion.

5.00My husband and I did 2 separate tours with Clewel Travel! One was Private Normandy D-Dah Tour with 6 Top Sites and the other was a private tour of Etretat cliffs and Honfleurs. We had 2 different tours- two different guides - two fabulous experiences!!! Both guides were extremely accommodating, pleasant, knowledgeable and made sure our important things to see were covered! Would definitely recommend Clewel Travel …comfortable transportation, personable guides, fabulous tours and worth every penny! Thank you again!!

5.00Maria and Roman were awesome! Picked us up at our hotel and did not hesitate to open the doors of the car each and every stop. Maria is so smart and has a plethora of knowledge not only about every stop on our tour but overall French history. It was extra special when we stopped at the Normandy American Cemetery, as it was very important for me to find my great Uncle. She made the time for us to talk to the staff, get to the grave sight and share a moment of gratitude to a family member I have never known but gave his life to fight the Battle of Normandy. Can I just say the day was full of knowledge in the utmost comfortable and respectful way. Thank you Maria and Roman for a fantastic day!

5.00Today we had the opportunity to travel with Eli our guide and Alex our driver. We were impressed with Eli’s knowledge and her ability to explain the history around D-Day during our tour. She and Alex were very professional and were able to get us through the entire itinerary for the day. I would like to complement Alex as well, he was very attentive to the needs of my family. He was able to see when we needed rest breaks and also a gentleman by being on point while driving us during the tour. Thank you both Eli & Alex for a memorable experience.
