Start near Verona’s historic center, close to the Arena area. Quick introduction to Verona as a “walled city” and why monumental gates mattered for trade, control, and defense. MID (fun fact): city gates were often real checkpoints, with guards and taxes on goods entering the city.
Porta Nuova
A major monumental gateway into the city. Great spot to explain Verona’s strategic position between the Po Valley and the routes heading north. Photo stop: short stop for pictures, focusing on the gate and the long perspective of the avenue. MID: many gates were “upgraded” over centuries—same function, different architectural styles depending on the era.

5.00If like us you were only in Verona a short space of time (in our case a day and a half) then this is a great way to see Verona in super quick (hour). Martin our guide was very nice and took photos of us both. We did the tour at 8.00pm so not so hot and the sun setting over the city.

5.00Friendly driver and guide, lots of information. We really enjoyed it. A little hard to find the exact starting point, but once we saw the golf carts at the end of the piazza we knew we were there. Great value for money and a great activity for a hot day.

5.00Very nice, quickly hit the highlights and paused when we wanted to capture some awesome photos! He even suggested to take photos of us at a few locations. Verona is a beautiful city, and we feel like we learned a lot and saw much of it.
