For ages 8+ only, experience Newport's only open air trolley tour with breath-taking views of Ocean Drive and the Gilded Age mansions along Bellevue Ave and the Cliff Walk. You will also visit the inside of the Breakers mansion for an additional 90 minutes.
This narrated tour covers 150 points of interest including Newport's Gilded Age, Colonial and Naval History .
Shopping, dining, boat tours, lighthouses, sunsets and Newport's best activities of today are also explained
See TV and movie sets come to life such as Hocus Pocus 2, HBO's The Gilded Age, and classics such as Amistad, True Lies, The Great Gatsby, and a dozen others.
Your guide also explains how to navigate the city on your own and the best places to park for free.

This is an open air trolley. Please dress accordingly. Tour may be canceled if rain is in the forecast.
The trolley is not handicapped accessible.. Driver may assign seating based on customer needs.
Please bring earbuds to hear the Breakers audio tour through your smartphone. We recommend you download the free Newport Mansions app prior to arrival from your phone's app store.
Please do not meet directly at the Breakers mansion. You will visit the attraction during the trolley tour

What To Expect
(For ages 5 & up only). Park in the public lot at 23 America's Cup Ave (Newport Transit Center) and locate the white open air trolley at Platform #7-9 outside. Show your cell phone or printed ticket to driver
Fort Adams State Park
The trolley tour will enter Fort Adams, a historic 1799 landmark and home of today's annual Newport Jazz Festival and Newport Folk Festival. The fort is also home to President Eisenhower's summer home called the Eisenhower House. The Welcome Center features a snack bar, clean restrooms, and ticket sales counter to take a tour inside of the fort. There are also 2 water taxi stops and free public parking at Fort Adams State Park. The Bennington Overlook section of Fort Adams offers breathtaking sunsets over Narragansett Bay with free parking as well.

5.00The open air Trolley was delightful. The guide was knowledgeable and took us around Newport showing the highlights as well as giving us tips on shopping and restaurants. The Breakers tour was really enjoyable & thorough. We had 1.5 hours for the tour and to wander the property and the sea walk. After, he dropped us at a pier where we went and had a lobster roll and were able to walk around. It was a perfect day & by far the best way to see Newport.
Enjoyed the trolley and Breakers tours.

5.00An outstanding way to see the sights in Newport. Our driver, Russ, was knowledgeable and informative. When touring the mansions area he tied a lot of his description into the popular HBO series “The Gilded Age”, much of which takes place in Newport. Some was filmed here as well. For those who’d seen the program it made some of the sights feel familiar. His presentation of the historic sights were interesting with a bit of humor added that helped hold everyone’s attention. All in all a great tour. Highly recommended.

5.00It was an open air trolley so it’s going to be windy and cold on sunny days that you think will be warm (sunny and 68 degrees)…so bring a jacket, just in case. The tour guy was very informative and knowledgeable and gave a lot of tidbits. This was great for a quick weekend to see what Newport RI has to offer. We didn’t rent a car so this hit all the spots we wanted to see.
