One of the top ten multi-day raft trips in the U.S! The Salt River Canyon Wilderness was federally protected in 1984 to preserve this premier river experience.  This 52 mile adventure includes stout Class IV rapids such as Black Rock, The Maze, Quartzite Falls and Corkscrew Rapid. Cibecue, Walnut, Hess and Yankee Joe side canyons contain quite pools and waterfalls supporting over 200 species of birds along with desert dwellers such as Coati, Javalina, Big Horn Sheep and Gila Monsters. The majestic Sonoran Desert fauna of countless wildflowers, Ocotillo, Sotol and towering Saguaro are complimented by the exotic geology of 1.4 billion year old granite and 800 year old Salado Indian Ruins. Trips are restricted to a maximum of 11 guest enhancing the solitude and serenity of one of the few remaining stretches of free flowing river in the southwest. Rental camping gear is available and dietary concerns met upon request.

This was an incredible trip. Exciting rapids, beautiful canyons and landscape, different ecosystems in one trip. Our guides were outstanding. Ellis was knowledgeable in the local vegetation, animals, and history of the area. We even saw 3 bald eagles! I camped like a queen. Full cooked fancy meals like chicken fajitas, steak, french toast, eggs and more. The whole crew, Ellis, Bible, Grant, and Sloan were phenomenal. Their ability to pack everything expertly and raft us and our gear contributed to a superb trip. They took care of every need and then some. I would highly recommend Salt River Rafting! I would recommend the 5 day wilderness trip instead of the 3 day as you have more time to explore and enjoy the area.
