What To Expect

Best Tanzania Safari Tarangire National Park with Kilinge adventures is one of the hidden jewels of Tanzania. This park measures 2,600 sq km’s and boasts a concentration of wildlife second only to Ngorongoro Crater. It features an impressive amount and array of birdlife and plant life. After breakfast you are met by our professional tour guide/driver, who will deliver a short safari info briefing, after which we travel east to the Tarangire National Park. The park runs along the line of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals, during Tanzania’s dry season. The Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. We will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park and do two exciting morning and afternoon game drives, along the Tarangire River. Late afternoon we depart for Arusha where we will end our safari adventure. The group should tip the tours guide around $20 for the day.

The pick-up time was 4 hours later than indicated (pick-up was indicated at 4:30 am and finally it was at 8 am, a fact that caused the later arrival at Tarangire and, therefore, fewer hours of safari, our guide William knew how to compensate perfectly by providing us with his extensive knowledge and getting us to see 4 of the “big five”

The day safari was just right for me. Transfer from moshi was two hours. Arusha to the park was 2 hrs. I was picked up at 6am. When I got to arusha I sat waiting around a bit at a Cafe. We then got in the safari car (these are very small if you have long legs). I felt like they could've prepared things better at this stage as we stopped for gas and stuff so it wasn't until 11:30 when we got into the park to start the game drive. We ate around 1 and the lunch was mediocre but it's a standard box lunch. The game drivers were fun. The others in my group were continuing on but my transport for back to moshi was on time and efficient. I got back to my hotel around 9 pm. For anyone who doesn't want a several day safari, this is great. It is a lot of driving for one day, but it's a nice excursion.

The service has been great, from booking in the tour all the way up to dropping me off at the airport after the tour. Johnson was punctual, professional, knowledgeable and passionate about the wildlife. He told me interesting facts about the animals and managed to find a rare sighting of a leopard on my tour! Thank you so much for an amazing experience

A great experience with a professional crew. A far drive from Moshi but highly recommend it- can be done in a day! We saw the big five and lots of quiet time to observe the animals and of course snap photos! Mike was knowledgeable and fun to ride with. Double check the description and ask about additional fees before booking from Moshi - we had fee transfers that were not clearly described and the national park fee is not included.
