The Gobi Desert is a vast, arid region in northern China and southern Mongolia. It's known for its dunes, mountains and rare animals such as snow leopards and Bactrian camels. In the Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park, the Khongoryn Els sand dunes are said to sing when the wind blows.
Ulaanbaatar
Ulaanbaatar is the capital of Mongolia. It’s in the Tuul River valley, bordering the Bogd Khan Uul National Park. Originally a nomadic Buddhist center, it became a permanent site in the 18th century. Soviet control in the 20th century led to a religious purge. Soviet-era buildings, museums within surviving monasteries, and a vibrant conjunction of traditional and 21st-century lifestyles typify the modern city

My tour guide Urtaa was a great and very friendly gentleman. He made a long drive to Gobi desert so much fun . We played traditional Mongolia game and had a delicious Mongolia lunch. The Gobi desert was just stunning. Our camele ride was so much fun. At first the 🐫that we were going to ride were lost, but Urtaa didn't give up and he found us different camels to rid one. I highly recommend this tour with him as your tour guide.!!

We had so much fun. Our guide Pati was well organised, punctual and so kind! We had great conversations during the drive and laughed a lot. The visit with the local Nomad family was very special but the highlight was the camel rider through the desert! A truly unique experience! Highly recommend.

We are 6 persons from Taiwan, and we enjoyed riding camels, although it’s only a mini hobo desert, but we still excited to see the sand and camels stepping on it. However, this summer quite weird in Mongolia as it rains very often, our tour guide said Mongolia rarely rains in summer. Luckily, it’s about one hour to rain at mini Gobi desert, and that time tour guide took us to have lunch in one family’s her. The sky changed very quickly to sunny after raining, we enjoyed riding camels, a great experience traveling in Mongolia, and our tour guide also let us to have horse riding, but the saddle is hard, our backside very pain. The trip from Ulaanbaatar to mini Gobi desert spend a lot of time in car (about 5 hours), thanks for our tour guide, he is friendly and humor, good in English, can ask him much questions.

We arranged this day trip for our first day in-country, sort of a "toe dipping" experience before we set off for the main focus of our trip, mountain biking in the Selenge River Valley. The highlight of the trip was getting a taste for the vast, wide-open spaces of this beautiful country. Though we enjoyed the camel ride, it was a bit touristy and if you've spent time at other sand dunes, the semi-Gobi is not particularly remarkable. We also had a visit to a ger, and that was interesting to see how the semi-nomadic herders live during the summer months. Our guide was pleasant, kind and spoke good English. We enjoyed our time with him. The main thing to know if you're contemplating this day trip is that it requires a VERY LONG DRIVE each way...about 5 hours to the camel riding/ger visit location and then 5 hours back. Lots of car time for very little "event" time (i.e. camel riding and visiting the ger). We don't regret doing it, as it was a nice first day activity, but it does kill about 12-13 hours, most of which is spent in the car, which may or may not be how you wish to spend your time.

I didn't know what to expect when I booked this tour. It is a must when visiting Ulanbataar. Without giving out too much detail (it would be more fun to discover), it gave a glimpse of Nomadic life & was fun. Our tour guide, Bayer, is not only knowledgeable but very friendly & helpful. Highly recommend him. Just brace yourself for a long drive to Gobi.

It was a very nice tour I had the opportunity to do with Amazing Mongolia. Bayar, the guide, has been very kind and shared a lot about Mongolian culture during the day. He tried his best to make sure that I get to experience everything that was planned and more.
