After our wonderful 3 days safari, then Visited Matrenu Waterfall for 1 days & it was our last day in Tanzania. And we realized the journey combined adventure, relaxation, and a delightful coffee experience. Finally when we arrived, the waterfall we were really surprised by how peaceful the place was, clear water cascading into a quiet pool, with soft mist drifting through the air. After enjoying the scenery, we joined the coffee portion of the tour, which ended up being surprisingly interactive. All in all it was a calm, charming, and memorable experience that felt completely genuine.

Our vacation in Materuni was one of the most refreshing experiences of our trip. And the Kibo team's contribution to making this trip interesting is huge. Started with Mwangi Evans our exploring. The hike through the forest felt peaceful, with tall trees, fresh air, and glimpses of Mount Kilimanjaro behind us. As we reached Materuni Waterfalls, the view was incredible-the long drop of water surrounded by green cliffs looked almost unreal. We took a dip despite the chilly water, laughing at how cold it was. The cultural tour with the Chagga people was warm and welcoming. We joined in roasting coffee beans, grinding them by hand, and tasting the final brew. Their banana beer added a fun twist. Lunch with freshly cut fruits tasted amazing after the walk Finally we visited Kikuletwa Hot Spring, a natural pool with clear water and roots hanging overhead. The tiny fish that gently nibbled at our feet made us smile. The whole day felt balanced and full of excitement.

Our day trip Materuni Waterfall was special with Kibo Mawenzi team gave us what we expected. Our guide shared stories about the Chagga community, which made the experience even richer. Trying their banana beer was a fun surprise, but the highlight was joining the traditional coffee-making process. There's something unforgettable about drinking coffee we have helped roast and grind by hand. Lunch in the village was fresh and comforting, especially with the local fruits. Later, we headed to Kikuletwa Hot Springs, where the turquoise water looked almost unreal. Floating in the warm pool, with tiny fish gently nibbling at our feet, was such a unique way to relax after the hike. It was a full day of nature, culture, and pure calm. We felt untouched and incredibly peaceful.

Our full-day trip to Materuni was easily one of the highlights of our time near Kilimanjaro. Kibo Mawenzi Safaris team picked us early from our hotel and driven to the village, where the cool morning air and lush rainforest set the tone for an amazing day. The hike felt peaceful and refreshing, with stunning views at every turn. We loved learning about the Chagga people, especially tasting their traditional banana beer and taking part in the hands-on coffee process-from roasting to brewing. Sharing that final cup felt incredibly rewarding. Lunch in the village, paired with fresh fruits, was simple yet delicious. Afterward, we headed to Kikuletwa Hot Springs, which felt like a hidden oasis. The crystal-clear water, warm temperatures, and tiny fish nibbling at our feet made the experience both relaxing and fun. It was the perfect way to unwind after the hike. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area.

We booked the Full Day in Kilimanjaro – Materuni Waterfalls, Culture Tour & Chemka Hotspring with Kibo Mawenzi Safaris, and it turned out to be one of the best days of our whole trip. I traveled with a friend, and we both loved every part of it. Our guide was super friendly, professional and really made us feel comfortable the entire day. The hike to Materuni Waterfalls was beautiful, and the culture tour was such a cool expereince. Watching the whole coffee-making process and trying it fresh was honestly amazing (and very tasty!). Chemka Hotspring was the perfect way to wrap up the day — clear blue water, relaxing vibes and such a peaceful spot. Our guide also helped us take photos since we kept forgeting. The whole trip was well organized, no rushing, no stress. Just a fun, memorable day. Highly recomend Kibo Mawenzi Safaris if you want a smooth and enjoyable adventure!

we did a full day trip around kilimanjaro area. materuni waterfall was the first stop. the walk was not hard, just a bit muddy but fun. when the waterfall came into view… wow. cold water, but very refreshing. we took a few photos and just stood there for a while. after that we visited the local family for the coffee making. it was simple and friendly. we tried roasting beans, grinding by hand, singing a bit with them 😅 coffee tasted strong but nice. then last stop was chemka hot spring. clear water, warm, and a lot of trees around. we were swimming almost one hour. everyone was relaxed. good place to end the day. the whole trip felt calm, no rush. just nature, walking, talking, and enjoying the day slowly. came back tired but in a good way.

Our full day with Kibo Mawenzi Safaris in Kilimanjaro exploring Materuni Waterfalls, the Chagga culture, and Chemka Hot Spring was transformative. Hiking through the lush trails to Materuni, we felt connected to nature in a way that's hard to describe. One of the nice parts of our trip, learning about traditional coffee-making and listening to villagers stories offered a new perspective on life - simple, grounded, and joyful. The day ended perfectly at Chemka Hot Spring. The crystal-clear, warm water surrounded by nature was the relaxing break we needed. The Kibo team was very hospital and made our day memorable.
