2.00This Tripadvisor description really doesn’t tell you what you need to know to go on this tour. It gives general descriptions of the route stops but no specific locations. I tried to start from Old North Church but it turned out that the route stop was a couple blocks away. After getting directions at the church, I still wasn’t sure I was in the right place, so I called the 855 number but got a recording. I had two tour guides — the first was a little heavy on the jokes and light on actual historical information. The second didn’t even try — she just played a recorded narration. Both seemed surprised to see my e-ticket. The second even said I could go to the ticket office the next day to get a physical ticket. What the heck? Why would I go pick up a ticket after I’ve already finished the tour?? It turned out she was driving the last trolley of the day and ended the tour at Long Wharf, about a mile from where I had parked. And by the way, I don’t recall ever seeing the tour hours posted anywhere. Is all the info on another website? If so, there should be a link to it from the Tripadvisor page. All in all, it was an uneven experience marred by confusion caused by poor communication.

5.00Hugo was AMAZING!! His knowledge of Boston history and the various neighborhoods really added to our overall Boston experience. I loved his personal anecdotes. This was a great way to get an overview of Boston history, allowed to see the places that were of particular interest in an unrushed manner, and take a mental note of other sights we wanted to go back to. I would highly recommend this tour, especially if your time is limited in Boston, or if it is near the start of your Boston adventure. Taking the tour with Hugo will really make the tour extra informative and entertaining.
