Tour cancelled on the morning of departure with unusable notice. I booked the “Best of Skye” tour from Portree for my only full day on Skye. I arrived at Somerled Square before 08:30 and waited at the pickup point. There was no Tour Skye bus, no driver and no representative. I called several times, but nobody answered. Only later did I find out that the tour had been cancelled because the driver/guide was sick. The cancellation email had gone to spam, and there was no phone call or usable warning before departure. By that time I had already lost the chance to easily join another tour. Tour Skye did issue a full refund, which is correct, but the communication and operational handling were poor. A refund does not fix the lost morning, the stress, the cold wait at the pickup point, or the fact that I only had one full day on Skye. The problem was not that a driver got sick. That can happen. The problem was the lack of clear, timely communication and no practical backup for customers already waiting at the departure point.

We had a tour guide change up, an older gentleman from another company but he was great and enjoyable to listen to. He took us to a local eatery for lunch and was good with timing. The fairy pools don’t look like the picture but that could have been time of year. Regardless it was a beautiful hike and an enjoyable day!

The booked excursion was unfortunately cancelled at very short notice, one day before. This was very annoying as we could not book a new excursion at such short notice. Am a bit surprised TripAdvisor has no knowledge of the cancellation. I hope that at least the refund will be quick and hassle-free. Anyway, we were very disappointed. The trip was one of our highlights on our Scotland tour.

The driver got sick and cancelled right before the trip was suppose to start. Also, we had sent two messages and hadn’t gotten any responses prior to the cancellation

Our tour was canceled and the email notification was sent to my spam. So we showed up and no tour. We found an entirely different company loading up at the same time location and they let us buy last minute tickets in their tour.

I did the Portree Isle of Skye Tour. Stevie our guide was absolutely brilliant! Deserves a pay raise if anyone in management is reading. Not only knowledge on all things Scottish, but his tips and tricks to enjoying Skye. On top of that a smashing playlist of Scottish themed music, witty jokes and ability to connect with everyone on the bus regardless of where we had come for. The extra small stops and photos ops were superb. Not to mention wildlife interactions, and best practices out and about. Thanks again! Highly recommend and can’t say anything bad. Happy travels to everyone reading this review. I usually do not write reviews, this was exceptional.

Rob, our tour guide was quite literally the best tour guide ever!! Me and my fiancé ended up being the only people on the tour and we got to see and learn so much! Either way, it was definitely a must for a tour!

This was the last day of this tour for the season, and even though the day light hours were short, Robbie was still able to get the group to all the major sights before the sun went down. He is also very informative and funny, was happy to spend the day with him checking out some of the sights on the Isle of Skye.
