  I recently completed a 10-day tour of New Zealand with Russ, and I can confidently say it was one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had. From the very start, it was clear how knowledgeable Russ is with his >20 years of experience. Whether it was history, geography, culture, wildlife, or hidden local spots, there genuinely wasn’t a question he couldn’t answer about New Zealand. That depth of knowledge added so much richness to the entire trip. Everything was seamlessly planned, with an incredible mix of adventure, fun, and unique sightseeing. Each day brought something new, and the balance of activities kept things exciting without ever feeling overwhelming. The accommodations were fantastic, and Russ did an amazing job adapting plans around the weather and the group’s interests, making everything feel smooth and effortless. What truly set this experience apart, though, was Russ himself. He brought so much energy, humour, and personality to every single day. He connected with everyone effortlessly and kept the vibes high throughout. The “Russ Bus” rides were always full of laughs and great chats. Even after long, activity-filled days, dinner was something to look forward to. It was a great time to come together, unwind, plan the next day, and enjoy great conversations and games in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Russ created a completely judgment-free atmosphere and was constantly encouraging, which made it easy for everyone to step out of their comfort zone and fully enjoy everything the trip had to offer. This truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime trip, and a huge part of that was thanks to Russ. I couldn’t recommend this experience more highly.

• Honeymoon adventure of a lifetime

  My husband and I are very active and outdoorsy we knew a beach style honeymoon would not be for us. We started to look at planning an adventure honeymoon to New Zealand ourselves but when we came across Adventure Junkies it took the hard work away. From the first communications we had with Adventure Junkie owner Russ he was professional and friendly. I am a teacher in the UK and Russ was extremely flexible in arranging our tour to fit around UK school holidays. Russ also was very transparent and helpful following the cancellation of our flights due to the Middle East conflict. We were pleasantly suprised to find out that Russ was to be our tour guide too. Russ immediately put us at ease and after introductions he recapped our trip itinary. Throughout the trip Russ drove us safely, providing adequate toilet stops, a banging playlist, games of dingbat, local knowledge and tid bits but also great chat and banter. Russ always had one eye on the weather and was extremely flexible and communicative when activities needed to be rearranged. The accommodation was great throughout and we ate at some fabulous cafes and restaurants. Russ was very flexible to the group's dietary requirements and always made sure everyone was catered for. In terms of the actual activities we LOVED it all some highlights were... Climbing We are keen rock climbers and climbing in Wanaka was awesome. Kayaking Milford Sound was absolutely stunning and we were lucky enough to see a seal. Whitewater rafting Speeding down some gnarly grade 5 rapids and rock jumping. Bungee It was sooo good my husband did it twice and chose the 'Spartan kick'. Mountain biking Bike park (additional activity that Russ helped us to organise) In Queenstown - a word of warning not for beginners! Absolutely wicked trails with a gondola ride with beautiful views. Frisbee golf In Queenstown a really fun way to explore Queenstown park. Sorry for exploding your Frisbee Russ! There were real 'adventure novices' in our group who still had the best time, as long as you have the right attitude all of the activities are accessible and can be adapted. We have made friends for life and it was great to spend the 10 days with such like minded people. Russ was fantastic throughout the whole of our trip from start to end. We have made a friend in him too. We wholeheartedly recommend using Adventure Junkies for any New Zealand related trip. • Bonding Bucket List Trip for Adventure Families

  From the moment we did the zipline in Christchurch to our Nevis Bungee experience in Queenstown the tour provided so much. We had the good fortune of having Dave as our guide. Professional, capable, knowledgeable, supporting us along the trip of a lifetime with our three boys aged 17, 20, and 22. The WILD RIDE of incredible experiences; hikes, rafting, skydiving, star gazing, bungee, bike rides, pristine lakes, and other activities across the incredible countryside of New Zealand, it would be hard pressed to suggest a tour that wouldn't bring your family more together and/or test their will and limits. A must do bucket list tour if adrenalin is your thing. A huge thanks to Russ, Dave, and our incredible Irish friends Molly and Sam, who we met on the journey. It was a terrific trip filled with lots of memories and a bucket list for Dad, who waited 30 years to jump out of a perfectly good plane at 12,000 feet with his kids.

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

• Adventure Tour March 2026

  Went as a couple and were joined by a family of 5, had a great experience and had an amazing tour guide Dave who knew lots of fun facts and knew his way around everywhere and where the best scenic viewing spots were to stop at and best walks to do in free time ect. The activities included where extremely fun however we upgraded both our skydive and bungee jump upon arrival for a bit extra but was well worth it. Our kayaking on Milford Sound did however get cancelled due to weather conditions but was quickly changed to a boat trip through the sound which was just as good. Meals were very good often eating out at cafes for both breakfast and lunch and having free choice over the menu all included with the tour and then left to ourselves for dinner but given plenty of suggestions on where to eat.   Forget the rest. Go with the BEST. Adventure Junkies tour was amazing. My family and I loved it. Tour Guide Dave a great host. I felt safe with Dave driving and we all really appreciated his local knowledge and advice. Dave intuitive to making everyone feel special in regard to their needs and interest. Our small group of six has had us form ongoing friendship, Dave included.

  This tour is everything that we hoped it would be! Our tourguide Ryan was fantastic and as small group of 5 + Ryan we had a blast. Great flexibility in the tour keeping the eye on weather to move around on activites was perfect. Highly reccomend.

• The way to experience south island

  I went on the Feb 17 to Feb 26 2025 adrenaline Junkie tour and each day I got experience something new. Zip lining, river rafting, rock climbing, glacier hiking, rock climbing, sky diving, bungy jumping and so much more... This tour has it all. Our tour guide Ryan and tour planner Ross are very experienced and they make sure you get your money's worth. They make sure they track the weather and make sure we got to exoerience all the activities. We were a group of 6 and food and accommodation were really good. I am a vegetarian and every town in south island we visited had good options and the included breakfast and lunch in the tour were always delicious and filling. We stayed in 4 star accommodations with really great views. Our tour guide Ryan is quintessential Kiwi and got us around safely with lots of interesting stories and trivia. Please ask him what does one Kiwi statue say to another kiwi statue :) I am taking home lots of good memories and new friendships.   The Adventure Junkies Adrenaline Tour has to be as good as it gets - combining touring the beautiful South Island with all the best of adventure activities available. The tour is fantastic value for money and exceeded my expectations in all respects. The itinerary is structured really well to ensure you are never long between activities - whether short hikes, secret spots, lake swimming, or adrenaline activities. Each day was packed with activities but never felt rushed. Our guide Ryan was the special ingredient that made the tour really special. Ryan was able to manage timing and changes to activities based on people’s wishes without trouble. His deep understanding of the Sth Island landscape/animals/plants, knowledge of all the best spots, worldly stories, humour, and - beyond all - kindness and helpfulness made spending time with him and the group pure pleasure. As others have said, the breakfast and lunch options were brilliant, and Ryan always had a stock of fruit and snacks in the van. Awesome value and a brilliant experience. Thanks Russ and Ryan! Tim.

  This 10 day adrenaline tour with Adventure Junkies was everything I hoped it would be, and is a really good price for what’s included. Our guide Ryan is a NZ local who has a wealth of experience touring and guiding, and is also just an awesome guy. The greatest thing about this tour is the flexibility, which really allows for a personalised experience. For example, we were able to move our skydiving, rock climbing and Bungy jump around on the fly to coincide with better weather. This also allowed us a bonus free day to do an activity of our choosing, which Ryan was very helpful in coordinating so everyone got to do what they wanted. The included meals were also great, we got taken to loads of local cafes and restaurants and were allowed to pick whatever we wanted from the menu, & if we wanted to go back the next day or go somewhere in particular, Ryan was able to facilitate this, even as far as the group being split up on our free day so we all got our included meals. I should also mention that all of the activity providers that Adventure Junkies work with to make this tour possible are the best of the best, we never had any problems at all.

  Our 10-day South Island Adrenaline Tour with Adventure Junkies was everything we hoped for, and so much more. From my pre-tour communications with Russ (the company owner), to the well-planned and perfectly-executed itinerary, to the included meals at all the best breakfast and lunch spots, to the best tour guide ever Ryan, to the amazing adventures and adrenaline activities - this trip totally exceeded my high expectations. Both Russ and Ryan do everything they can to ensure that all participants have the time of their lives. And we did!
