  • 10 days of riding Thailand

Trip of a lifetime. I had no idea that Thailand is full of amazing twisty mountain roads. We road in late March and had completely dry weather every day. Big Bike Tours provided a large variety of well maintained motorcycles, awesome accommodations, and all the food, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our guides were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We had a lead rider, sweep rider and a chase truck that hauled all of our luggage. All we had to do was show up. I highly recommend this trip to any rider who wants to experience real Thailand while doing some of the world’s best riding.

Big Bike Tours provided excellent motorcycles and guides. The trip was well planned and of course the food was excellent. I had no idea that the twisty road riding would be so much fun. Thailand has excellent roads, and other drivers have great respect for motorcycle riders.

  • Amazing trip and wonderful for lead and mechanic.

We selected this company based upon their reviews and we were not disappointed. The company was always responsive to our queries during our trip planning. They met us at the airport on the day of our arrival in Chiang Mai and looked after all our needs from that point until the end of our tour. The bikes were well maintained , the riding was amazing and the sites we visited were very interesting and diverse. Our tour leader Pong and trusty mechanic Root looked after every minute detail while we were on the road. They would not rest until they were assured all our needs were looked after. A wonderful experience and would not hesitate to travel with Bike Bike Tours in the future.

  • Amazing Ride through Northern Thailand. Highly recommend the tour with this company.

Last February 18, 2026, I successfully completed the 10-Day Amazing Northern Thailand Big Bike Tour with Big Bike Tours — and what an unforgettable journey it has been! The entire adventure was incredible, scenic, and deeply memorable. Every twist of the mountain roads, every sweeping curve, and every breathtaking viewpoint made this experience truly special. I am sincerely grateful for every moment shared with such a wonderful, positive, and supportive group of riders. The camaraderie we built along the way made the journey even more meaningful. Big Bike Tours delivered excellence from start to finish. Everything was organized with professionalism and precision — from the relaxing and comfortable accommodations, to the delicious local cuisine, and the exciting attractions thoughtfully planned at every stop. All we had to do was focus on the ride and enjoy the adventure. Our tour leader, Mr. Torsten, demonstrated outstanding leadership throughout the entire 10 days — calm, steady, and always prioritizing safety while keeping the spirit of adventure alive. The support guide Mr. Whe, together with our dependable van driver and mechanic Mr. Tom, were consistently helpful, attentive, and highly efficient. Their teamwork ensured that every kilometer felt safe, smooth, and enjoyable. Above all, I was deeply touched by the kindness of the Thai people we met throughout Northern Thailand — always welcoming, always smiling, and always ready to help. Their warmth truly adds something special to every ride in this beautiful country. I am already looking forward to joining Big Bike Tours again in the future — hopefully to explore the southern part of Thailand next time. Until then, I will carry these amazing memories with me. Thank you to everyone who made this adventure so special!

Several things to like, and unfortunately, several very disappointing, and some dangerous things not to like. The Good: I’ve been riding for well over 50 years and have done multiple tours and solo trips throughout Europe, New Zealand, the United States, and Canada. Hands-down, this was the best riding I’ve done in my entire life. In reality, that has nothing to do with Big Bike, as all of the credit really needs to go to the Thai government for maintaining, for the most part, amazing roads with endless twisties, and sweepers. With that said, relative to Big Bike, the best thing about this trip was our tour leader, Pong. The nicest, most humble guy you would ever want to meet. An excellent rider who was always concerned about everyone and everyone’s safety. Additionally, he provided excellent running commentaries about the various cultures, histories, and religions. The route choices were great. The accommodations varied from quaint to high end and were always nice. The food choices, including regional variations, were a veritable moving feast. The Bad: first day, 200 m from the shop a rider went down at a very slow speed. Our best guess was he was not told he had new tires, and they apparently had some sort of coating that had not been scrubbed out. The same day another motorcycle broke down, and the replacement had to be replaced with a third motorcycle, because the replacement bike’s throttle was too tight. An upgraded KTM duke 89O for a very good rider had no brake lights and an almost nonexistent set of rear turn signals. It made it very dangerous for other riders, especially in the twisties, who couldn’t gauge properly when he was using the brakes. Another bike was released from the shop with a sheared headstock bolt, making it entirely possible that the other bolt could have sheared from forceful riding, causing the rider to lose control. A BMW had the ABS go out. The front rotors on a relatively new triumph 900 were warped. The left mirror on my bike had stripped threads and was repaired with glue and tape! Four times throughout the trip, three of them being in the twisties, my LED screen went completely blank. My brake lever adjuster was broken so I couldn’t adjust the distance. This proved to be annoying especially in the twisties where trail breaking is very important to me. Another rider joined us halfway through the trip, renting a Triumph Speed Triple. The bike had essentially no muffler. Everybody on the trip complained about the incessant, shrieking, loud exhaust. We all had to try to make sure we were in front of him or far enough behind because the sound was so annoying. Residents of small villages were disturbed by the sound; really bad noise pollution out in the countryside. That bike should never have been rented out in that condition. It’s very simple to install a baffle. The rider kept apologizing because everyone was complaining. If, after reading this review, you decide to rent a bike from them, I’d encourage you to go over every inch of it to make sure there is nothing wrong before you leave the main office. To add insult to injury (metaphorically speaking), Big Bike uses the Elephant Conservation Center for one of its stops, knowing full well it is a non-ethical environment for the elephants. This is the 21st-century; you don’t feed, ride or bathe elephants. These are wild animals forced into very stressful environments; I.e., exposed to hundreds if not, thousands of people interacting with them throughout the year. A true elephant sanctuary in Thailand, of which there are many, have observation decks in which there is no interaction with the elephants whatsoever. That is an ethical and natural environment. I have very strong misgivings about this company, and very probably would not book another tour with them.
