Lake Mburo National Park
You will be picked up from your hotel or the airport for a transfer to Lake Mburo National park. It's a 4 hours long drive and you will have an en route stop over at the Equator for photography. You will arrive in time for lunch and later can go for a game drive seeing a number of wildlife including zebras, giraffes, Buffaloes among others.
Nature walk and head to Bwindi Forest National Park

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Have breakfast and go for a nature walk to the salt lick. You will later have a game drive as you exit the park for a transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park in southwestern Uganda. It will take a 3 to 4 hours drive.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Report to park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla tracking and then be led to the forest in search for mountain gorillas. This will take a 2 to 6 hours hike depending on the movement of gorillas. Once you get to them stay in their presence for an hour taking photos and getting to know more about them. Later you will be brought to the park and in the evening can go for a community visit.

Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast head to Queen Elizabeth National park arriving early enough for extensive game drives in the Ishasha sectors. If lucky you will spot the tree climbing lions and many other wildlife in the park. Later proceed to the northern sectors for a rest at your lodge.

Go for a nature walk in the bat cave Or Kyambura gorge and later return for a break. In the afternoon you will have a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel where you will see a number of wild animals including hippos, NIle crocodiles and birds.

Start with an early game in the Kasenyi area to catch up with the early risers. You will visit lake Munyanyange and later exit the park for a transfer to Kibale national park. You will pass via the crater lakes of Ndali and Kaseda for sight seeing

Kibale National Park
Head out early to the park headquarters for a briefing about chimpanzee tracking. You will see other primates in the park including various monkey species as well as a number of bird species. You will return for a lunch break and later go for a nature walk to the Bigodi wetlands where you will also see a number of birds and primates.
Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

You will have breakfast and be transferred to Murchison falls NP. This is a long drive taking 7 to 8 hours with em route stop overs for photography and lunch. You will pass via the Butiaba escarpment with clear views of Lake Albert and then proceed to the park.

Murchison Falls National Park
Go out for early morning game drives in the northern sector of the park with the highest animal concentration. After seeing a variety of wildlife there, return to your lodge for a break and in the evening go for a boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison falls.
Head to Kampala with en route rhino tracking

Have breakfast and exit the park for transfer back to Kampala. You will have an en route stop over at the Rhino Ziwa Sanctuary for rhino tracking and later proceed to Kampala for a drop off at your hotel or lodge depending on schedule. End of tour.

5.00From the beginning, Anna, who took care of us, was always clear about the trip and answered all our doubts quickly. And she was really kind to come to meet us at our arrival hotel. The trip provided us with a good view of southern Uganda, as we crossed through many parks, and offered the chance to learn about some community projects along the way. Our driver, John, was always excellent, experienced and attentive. Need to say that the trip includes long driving days on the road to move from one park to another. The experience with Gorillas was amazing! The habituation experience is very expensive, but totally worth it! Included in the price, we understood that it is a big team - guide, trackers, backup protection, and volunteers learning - doing a great job caring and protecting our close relatives, the Gorillas.

5.00I went to Uganda with my fiance for two weeks in January/February 2024. I advise anyone from Uganda and Rwanda to hire a local guide to help coordinate the travel and make your trip more comfortable and pleasant (for example, good food and clean washrooms). The local guide also knows the history of the region and can help make the most of your journey. Our coordinator was Anna, and our Guide was Fred. From the moment we started planning our Ugandan adventure, Discovery Journeys went above and beyond to ensure our trip was everything we dreamed of and more. The communication with the team before our arrival was clear and responsive, making us feel reassured and well-prepared for our journey. On our first day, we were greeted by our local guide, Freddy, who was knowledgeable about Uganda's rich culture and diverse wildlife but also incredibly professional and friendly. His expertise and enthusiasm made our experience truly memorable. The tour itself was meticulously organized, encompassing a wide range of activities and destinations. From the breathtaking gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to the serene boat cruises on the Kazinga Channel, to a private Safari in Queen Victoria Park, to a tour seeing the monuments and museums in Kigali in Rwanda. Every day was a new adventure. The accommodations selected for us were comfortable and welcoming, offering spectacular views and excellent service. Freddy and Anna were also very flexible. Towards the end of our trip, we wanted to extend the trip two more days and keep them as our guides. They accommodated our request and found us a beautiful hotel and boat tour in Lake Kivu (Rwanda). I highly recommend Discovery Journeys. They planned all of our major activities, accommodations, and provided private transportation to each hotel and activity. PS: I recommend Freddy as your guide.
