Cate from Prime did an amazing job planning our safari. Every minute was thought out and she gave us exactly what we wanted. Our driver Ananias was excellent. Uganda is stunning. Highly recommend that you go to Uganda and that you book your trip with Prime Safaris!

We have a fabulous ten day with our guide, Jerome. We did chimpanzees and mountain gorila trekkings, not to mention the game drives. The office also does a good, job to prepare for our arrival. Jerome drives safely and he is very informative, helpful and polite.

Prime Safaris was a pleasure to work with from our first contact with Cate in the office to saying goodbye to Annais and Charles after a fabulous 9 days! We started in Murchison Falls and made our way down the west of Uganda, including incredible game drives, chimpanzee and gorilla trekking and stunning river cruises! I highly recommend this Ugandan owned safari company to anyone interested in experiencing the lovely hospitality of the Uganda people and the diverse and beautiful national parks of this very special country. My group of 11 are well-travelled people and we agreed this adventure was the best of all of our travels!

I wish I could give a 10! From the start with the communication from Cate planning the trip and organizing the 11 of us comming from 8 different locations in the US. Each lodge we stayed in got better and better. This was a trip of a lifetime for me. We traveled with 5 college friends and family. We bonded even more during our adventure. Our guides Charles and Ananias have now become part of our family. As we ended the trip some of us were crying. Who cries as a trip comes to an end??? Our guides got us from one end of Uganda to the other and back with precision time and lots of extras. Happy hour, banana hooch, jack fruit, craft shopping, and drum music. The food on the tour was amazing. Who knew Uganda has so much to offer. Felt safe the whole time. Already planning our trip back to explore the eastern side of Uganda.

I cannot rate Prime Safaris highly enough. This was truly one of the most memorable travel experiences (and experiences in general!) of my entire life. We were a large group (11 people, split over two vehicles), and our guides Charles and Ananias went above and beyond in ensuring that we had the best experience possible. I think I speak for our entire group when I say, honestly, that we would not change a single thing about our entire trip. Prime Safaris exceeded expectations on every level. I was in Charles’s vehicle, and spent time with him primarily, but got to know Ananias as well and can vouch for both of them equally as being some of the most caring, dedicated guides. By the end of the trip, I am proud to call them my friends, and will absolutely be reaching out to them in the future for another Uganda safari with Prime Safaris. Charles and Ananias are perfect ambassadors for Prime Safaris, and for the country of Uganda on the whole. Besides seeing amazing scenery and wildlife, we had unique cultural experiences as well, including some unexpected ones which our guides organized to surprise us. We always felt safe and cared for throughout the duration of our journey, and were given invaluable experiences that will stick with us forever. The days were well-organized and always went smoothly, and Charles and Ananias seemed to know everything there is to know about the culture, wildlife, and parks that we encountered, while also being personable and professional. We saw leopard, chimps, gorillas, elephants, giraffes, zebras—all the animals you would hope to see on a safari. But honestly, my favorite part was befriending our guides and getting to know them over the course of the trip. Going into this, I expected to have guides that could answer questions and show us around, but was not expecting to also make close friends who I will cherish forever. A truly profound experience. It felt like having a personal friend show you around this beautiful country. If you are considering a safari in Uganda, choose Prime Safaris, and if you can, go with Charles or Ananias. You will not regret it. Whenever I return to Uganda, they will be the first people I contact.

Our trip with Prime Safaris was outstanding. Our expectations were exceeded over and over again. We were a group of 11, so in two safari vehicles and two guides, Ananias and Charles. Both were outstanding and worked well together. The trip was well organized and explained thoroughly each day so we knew what to wear and what time to be ready. The safari cars were stocked with water and had charging stations. I can’t say enough good about our guides. I was with Ananias more. He’s a motivator, he’s hilarious-great sense of humor, very knowledgeable, organized and caring. He and Charles set up a special surprise Happy Hour for us at a gorgeous viewpoint for 2 crater lakes. They also stopped along the way to buy things for us to try, like roasted corn, jackfruit, sugar cane and homemade banana gin. At one point, our safari car got high centered out in the middle of a park and Ananias and Charles were professional and calm and worked together to get the vehicle unstuck. I felt safe with Ananais driving on the (wild) highways and dirt roads. I give Prime Safaris, Ananias and Charles 5+ stars. Cate also was great with the planning. Quick responses. Our vacation and entire experience was outstanding. Already discussing a return trip (with Charles and Ananais) to visit the East coast.

From the start, Prime Safaris stood out from many of the other tour operators. Cate was always quick to respond and I didn’t feel like I was getting “stock” answers to my MANY questions. Every response was thoughtful and precise. Over the course of a year, I had several off the wall questions and concerns that Cate went above and beyond to explain and sort out. Once in Uganda, Ananias our guide met us at the airport and presented us with lovely gifts. So unexpected and wonderful. Our tour involved a big chunk of time on the road. We upgraded our vehicle to the extended land cruiser and are still high fiving our decision. The majority of the drive was on dirt, bumpy roads and the vehicle handled the rough conditions very well. Ananias “Mr. Pineapple” was such a fun and knowledgeable guide and expert driver. He was always extremely prompt, cleaned the vehicle each day, made sure our water bottles were always full and even purchased pineapple and bananas for us along the way. The long drives were scenic and fun while listening to his upbeat musical playlist. He even stopped the vehicle a couple times to get out and bust a move. Such a funny guy. We chose budget lodging and I was a bit wary that we made the wrong decision, however, I wouldn’t hesitate recommending every one of the budget lodges we stayed at. All were neat as a pin, cozy, secure and most had million dollar views. The food was simple but delicious. The juices ( watermelon/ginger) and soups (carrot/ginger) were to die for. The tour itself was extraordinary. Uganda is a beautiful country. The people are kind and have a beautiful spirit. We came for the gorilla trekking which was incredible, but all other activities were wonderful. Highlights were chimp and gorilla trekking, Kazinga Channel cruise, a surprise visit to a fishing village near Queen Elizabeth NP (?), the game walk in Lake Mburo where we could walk closely to giraffes and zebras and the gorgeous Lake Bunyonyi area with a very interesting boat ride to a Batwa Pygmy community. Highly, highly recommend Prime Safaris! You won’t be disappointed!!

8 day tour with myself and dad and our lovely guide Jerome. We went around the west of Uganda with lots and lots of driving but beautiful scenery along the way. Each day was a new activity from boat cruises to game drives and trekking with the chimps and gorillas were definitely the highlight. Checked off 4 of the big 5 (no leaopard) with some great close encounters. Our guide Jerome was extremely knowledgeable and could answer any question you have no matter what it was and was very kind always with a big smile on his face and got us from a to b safely :)))) Definitely recommend this tour and Prime with a smooth and very exciting experience of a lifetime.

My best friend and I just got back from a 10 ten safari with Prime Safaris to celebrate my thirtieth birthday (slightly belated). Cate organised an amazing trip and had special birthday arrangements at almost every location we went! She was very willing to answer the many questions we had before our journey. Our driver/guide Emmanuel made the experience unforgettable. I couldn’t have asked for a more friendly and knowledgable driver. He went above and beyond to make this the best trip of my life. The lodges Cate booked for us were beautiful and the food was delicious. The people of Uganda were so hospitable everywhere we went. Don’t hesitate to book this trip!
