Samburu National Reserve
Departure to Samburu National Park. Due to its remote nature, Samburu has become the preferred game reserve for tourists looking for a quieter safari with fewer game vehicles; however, it receives the second-highest number of visitors after the Masai Mara. The Samburu people live on the outskirts of the reserve in rural villages that survive primarily off the land. There is a lot of cultural interest at these villages and guests are given the opportunity to visit as a part of day-trip activities. This is one of 2 reserves where researchers and conservationists, Joy and George Adamson, became famous for raising lioness, Elsa. Their story was portrayed in the well-known book, Born Free. We arrive in the afternoon with a mouth-watering late-evening game drive

Was a pleasure to have Dixon as our guide and driver. As a driver, he drove long hours and avoided holes or bad routes for our comfort, and always accomodated our needs like when we needed to stop for the restroom. As a guide, he adapted to our schedule, interests, and made us aware of several options ( paid or non paid) without pushing us for a decision or another, just staying very informative. He was also very knowledgeable about all the animals and nuances between different species, even small birds. He took us close to all the animals while staying respectful to other jeeps and the park, never getting off the tracks like other drivers, which we really appreciated. 10/10 would recommend

I just returned from an unforgettable trip to Kenya, taking place from August 3 to August 13, and it was truly a dream come true! We traveled with Apodiformes Tours, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Itinerary Highlights: Our journey included visits to some of Kenya's most stunning destinations: the Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, Amboseli National Park, and Tsavo National Park. Each location offered its own unique beauty and a plethora of wildlife. Masai Mara: Kicking off our adventure in the Masai Mara, we were treated to remarkable wildlife sightings, including the Great Migration. The thrill of watching wildebeest and zebras traversing the vast plains was something I will never forget. Our driver, Kim, expertly navigated the reserve, ensuring that we had the best views of animals, including lions, cheetahs, and elephants. Lake Naivasha: Next, we visited Lake Naivasha, where we went on a delightful boat ride. The serene waters were home to a variety of birds, including pelicans and herons, and we even spotted a few hippos lounging nearby. The scenery was stunning, with lush green surroundings and a sense of peace that invigorated us for the next leg of our journey. Lake Nakuru: Our trip continued to Lake Nakuru National Park. This park is famous for its vibrant flamingos and diverse wildlife. Kim guided us through the park, where we were able to see the stunning pink hues of the lake, as well as rhinos and a variety of other wildlife. The sight of a rhino was a personal highlight for me! Amboseli National Park: Amboseli was another highlight of our tour. With Mount Kilimanjaro in the background, the views were breathtaking. We were fortunate to see large herds of elephants up close, and again, Kim's deep knowledge of the area made our experience richer. He shared fascinating facts about the ecology of the park and the conservation efforts for its wildlife. Tsavo National Park: Lastly, we explored the magnificent Tsavo National Park. Its vast landscapes and vibrant ecosystems left us in awe. We spotted plenty of wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, and various antelope species. The sense of adventure was palpable, and we loved every moment of our time there. Exceptional Driver - Kim: Throughout our journey, Kim was an outstanding driver and guide. His expertise and passion for wildlife and culture enriched our experience immensely. Kim was friendly, accommodating, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure we had an incredible time. Accommodations: The accommodations arranged by Apodiformes Tours were excellent, providing great comfort after our daily adventures. Each lodge and camp featured warm hospitality and delicious food, making our stay even more enjoyable. Conclusion: Overall, my trip to Kenya from August 3 to August 13 with Apodiformes Tours was a remarkable adventure filled with stunning landscapes, incredible wildlife, and rich cultural experiences. I am grateful for the memories made and highly recommend this tour company and especially Kim as a guide to anyone looking to explore the beauty of Kenya!

Our experience with Silas was excellent. Prompt responses to our various queries were very satisfying. Hallmark was our tour guide GIBSON, who was best & made our all safaries memorable. What touched me was he made special stool for me to climb the Van as I am 70+ was finding difficult to climb Van every time . They are too good & most professional. I strongly recomend APODIFORMES ADVENTURES to make your tour memorable in Kenya. 🐆❤️ Archana Mehta

I did a tour with Silas and his company and I am currently in Nairobi enjoying this magnificent tour. The tour was very well managed by Silas and his amazing tour guide Gibson. We covered Amboselli, Tsavo, Nakkuru, Naivasha and Masai mara. Silas and Gibson changed our itinerary on landing and made the best decision of our lives. We had Masai Mara as the first stop but Gibson recommended to keep it as the last stop as Migration had not started in full swing. We were very excited to see it and Gibson made sure to make us witness a beautiful natural process. He explains everything really well and has a lot of knowledge. We saw big5 and saw them multiple times. We highly recommend them! They were extra kind and helped us with extra car twice to accommodate our luggage. Gibson is so patient and he is a lovely person. We highly highly recommend these guys. There are thousands of agents in Africa but if you want a tour guide and a company that will make sure you remain safe and have the best trip of your life, go with these guys!!! Thank you Silas and Gibson.

Booked the trip of a lifetime with Silas in December for my mom's 70th birthday. He quickly responded to my texts and the few edits I made to the original itinerary based on the animals we wanted to see. I was very wary reading the earlier reviews mentioning him a week before leaving after working with him for 6 months. Very happy to report that everything went as expected - the camps that were booked, the start times, the transportation. We started at Maasai Mara with Dickson, who picked us up at our Nairobi hotel ready and waiting before our agreed start time, without whose perseverance and excellent driving skills we would *still* be stuck in the mud. "Turn back? No! We are adventurers!" Unfortunately, a broken-down jeep forced us to part with Dickson on our third day, but we were saved within the hour by the lovely Ben and traveled on to Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Amboseli, Tsavo East and Diani Beach. Each place was gorgeous, and we had such a great time on our drives. I obviously do not know the circumstances that compelled the earlier reviews, but I am writing to calm anyone's fears about Apodiformes and Silas. I reached out to many tour companies researching this trip, and Apodi was the best value based on cost and average TripAdvisor reviews. Would book with them again, no question.
