We were fortunate to have the best tour guide and it was just our party of 4 people. Got to see so much and learn so much too. Restaurant was amazing there!

Our knowledgeable guide made the experience so much more than a simple botanical garden tour! We met downtown where our guide gave a little tutorial on using the public bus system before we boarded one of those public buses for our trip to the gardens. Along the way, he spoke a bit on the history of the gardens and what we could expect to see. It was a pleasant walk through various plant habitats. We booked the half-day tour and joined our guide and the other tourists for lunch at the restaurant within the botanical gardens, some of whom were continuing the tour after lunch.

My 1/2 day tour of the botanical garden was so much more than I expected. The garden is huge but very well organized. You will see flowers and plants that you’ve never seen beautifully displayed. However, what makes the trip special is the guide. Jimmy was so engaging from the bus ride to the garden to the end of the tour when he gave me several options for continuing my time there. He shared information about the gardens, Puerto Vallarta, and the history of the region that was fascinating. I had considered wandering the garden without a guide but doing the tour with an experienced guide was such an enriching experience!

This was a very interesting tour. Jimmy was a great guide and was very knowledgeable about the gardens, as well as Mexican history and the local area. I really enjoyed seeing all the beautiful flowers and the great variety of colorful birds (including hummingbirds and a peacock). If you have time, eat at the restaurant and walk down to the river. I definitely recommend it.

Jimmy was great; very nice, very knowledgeable. He knew a lot about the history of the area and had an excellent way to draw you into the stories. He didn't know as much about the flowers and plants as I was expecting but was very open about that from the beginning and would regularly check his guide notes to make sure he didn't miss anything. It was very informative and much better than wandering through without a guide. Thanks so much Jimmy!

We travelled with our guide, Abraham, on the local bus from Puerta Vallarta to the Botanical Gardens. We enjoyed views of the sea and hotels before turning into the mountains to reach the gardens. For people who value nature and enjoy the opportunity to see a wide variety of plants in a beautiful setting, this garden is a treat. We left with a sense of gratitude for the many people who have taken a piece of barren land and turned it into an award winning piece of paradise. We would like to express a special thanks to our botany specialist, Abraham, who added depth and meaning to the experience.
