Galveston has seen a horrifying number of sudden deaths. An ungodly number of the island's dearly departed, well, never departed. Their spirits are lurking in the shadows, alleys, staircases and stalk the Strand every day! The historic 19th century buildings on the Strand have become ghost sanctuaries, and the ghosts inside are just dying to meet you.
Join us on our 90-minute walking tour as we explore the fascinating paranormal happenings on the strand, the original street of horror. Hurricanes, war, fire, and epidemics! The pirate Jean Lafitte even turned the island into a den of thieves. Galveston has more ghosts than any other city in U.S.
Walking in the night, translucent figures will float by the windows. Shadows will suddenly appear and objects move of their own accord as we huddle closer to one another for are mutual protection. We never know what’s waiting for us around the corners. Beware and be scared! After all Galveston is nothing but “a cemetery with a beach attached.”

What To Expect
Galveston Railroad Museum
At its height this railroad station saw over 40,000 people a day on their way to Galveston's bars, casinos and brothels. An engineer by the name of William Watson would entertain the passing crowds by doing handstands on the cattle guard of the engines. One unfortunate day he slipped and was immediately decapitated. A derby hat was still securely sitting on the head they found a mile away!
So many dignitaries, soldiers, politicians and even presidents have checked in…but some never checked out. Crying sobs are heard on the stairwells and in the halls. A Civil War soldier marches up and down the lobby for all to see. A little boy plays in the hotel rumored to be the ghost of a child run over outside the front of the hotel. One helpful ghost will even unpack for you!

5.00Went on the tour last night with my family and a random couple who happened to book at the same time! Thomas, our guide, was HILARIOUS, and he did a great job including everyone as he told the story and cracked some jokes along the way. He’s very knowledgeable about the history, great with imagery and storytelling, and open to comfort accommodations (some stops, we were given opportunities to sit down). I was honestly sad when the tour ended, because I felt like our group (yes, my family, thomas, AND the strangers!) had all bonded with a story between us. I wouldn’t have any other guide for this tour, and I’d LOVE to come again.
