Our Shamakhi–Lahij–Gabala–Sheki tour was simply wonderful. We visited the impressive Juma Mosque, explored the ancient village of Lahij, and admired the breathtaking landscapes of Azerbaijan. The hotel we stayed at was very comfortable, centrally located, and a great place to relax. We also enjoyed the delicious local cuisine along the way. Emin proved to be a truly professional guide, making the whole journey seamless and enriching. I highly recommend this tour company to everyone!

The Shamakhi–Lahij–Gabala–Sheki tour was an amazing journey through nature, history, and culture. Every stop was breathtaking – from the mosque in Shamakhi to the unique crafts in Lahij, the mountain scenery of Gabala, and finally the charming town of Sheki. The highlight at the end was staying at the beautiful Sheki Palace Hotel, which offered comfort, elegance, and a true taste of Azerbaijani hospitality. The entire trip was well-planned, stress-free, and full of memorable impressions. I strongly recommend this company for anyone looking for the best tours in Azerbaijan – you won’t regret it!

We had a great tour to Sheki with Emin. We visited lots of interesting places on the way and Emin provided detailed commentary for the places we were seeing. It's a great tour as it allows you to see a lot of varied places on a short trip and breaks up the long drive to Sheki. On the way to Sheki we had a lovely lunch of Qutabs in a forest - nothing fancy but a great local experience. Emin ensured that we managed to see all the places on the itinerary and made it to Sheki with enough time for us to take an evening stroll through the city before dinner. The hotel that was arranged for us in Sheki was very comfortable and we had a good rest after a long day on the road.

I have to dedicate this trip to Mr Rustam, because for the 2 days , he was our guide, driver and local support for any help... This trip was great, incase you want to see the region outside Baku, which itself was so beautiful with varied terrain like arid land, green forest to high mountains. The entire journey is nearly 400 km , but worth the trip. Out last stop Sheki was also a very pretty town and they arranged in Sheki palace hotel, which was next to all the major attractions and nice area to walk around... Rustam was a safe driver , ensured he stopped wherever we wanted him to stop, very patient and he was more like our family member, by the end of the tour. Diri baba, jumaasjid, nohar lake and sheki Sarai are all worth watching. It's a 5 hour drive from sheki back to Baku.... Rustam went out the way to arrange a hotel for us, when unexpectedly our booked hotel fellow cancelled without prior information at last moment at late night.... Thank you helping us out Rusti... He has good collection of Azerbaijani songs, don't miss it... Yes one point, he is your driver,.not.guide, so can't expect too much information from him, though he did his best.... As per me, if you want to see the places beyond Baku, must go , as it was worth investing on, while it was little expensive, still with the experience.....

This was a great tour to get out of Baku and see the countryside of Azerbaijan. Glad I found the tour and the great guide. Also glad the way back to Baku was a different route so we could see a little bit more.

It was extremely difficult to connect with our guide, even though the fee of U.S. $240.00 for one had already appeared in my credit card statement. No contact until the morning the man appeared. We were perplexed, the same tours were advertised at the hotel at half price. I appoligized to my friends for booking Viatour. We spent the day driving and driving and driving. The tour did not include lunch which I thought it did so again, I offered to buy lunch for my 2 friends. The stop was not clean with little to offer. I would never take a friend there. If an appropriate place is not available, I would buy lunchboxes for my clients (I'm a guide) or suggest that they prepare some food. It was a Friday and the mosque we were to visit was closed. We went to see caves where monks sat in meditation. The climb up was too difficult for one friend. I wish I had known that beforehand. Next stop was to an old cemetery but there was no explanation as to why this was worth seeing other than it was old. The next stop was at a lake? pond? Nothing to see here and it was getting dark. We experienced another forgettable meal and arrived around 11 pm at our hotel!!! If we had arrived at Gabala during daylight, we could have enjoyed wandering the streets and enjoying the mountain scenery. We were ready to leave the next morning but the Karacavanserai was not open until 11 am. What kind of planning went into this? We waited and walked a bit, saw the Karavanserai and then the guided mentioned an Albanian church and village in Kish. The was very interesting. Of course we enjoyed this medieval sight. We had a late lunch and started back. May I suggest that your driver have some knowledge of the sites shown. We tried to explain that we wanted to see a World Heritage Site. This was an unknown word for him. Both my Swiss and Bulgarian friends know this word. Our guide did not. Never mind going to the mosque or little pond/lake. On the first day, drive to show the countryside and arrive in daylight to Gabala to see the village, have an authentic meal at a Good restaurant.

My partner and I had high hopes from this tour package, but tbh, we felt we could have done better booking locally. The package is much higher in terms of price, albeit it covers a lot of places in 2 days. Our tour guide was a nice local man named Senan, but honestly, he didn’t really do much of guiding. He was more of a driver than anything else, and we wished he would tell us at least a little about the places we were seeing. The hotel they had us stay at, at Sheki, was a nice one, but we didn’t get much time there to look around. I don’t think I’d recommend this package unless you don’t want a guide and just need someone to drive you to these places.

We highly recommend this trip when you don't have much time, but still want to see a bit more of the country outside of Baku. It involves a lot of driving, but it's a varied programme and you get to see some lovely sights. Communication via Whatsapp was very smooth with Travelway, as well as with our driver/guide Anar, who was excellent.

We had a fantastic trip! Our guide Vahid was incredibly attentive and patiently answered the thousands of questions we had. He went out of his way to show us hidden gems and really made us understand Azerbaijan much better. Thank you very much, we will never forget this trip!
