Prasat Kravan
is a small 10th-century temple consisting of five reddish brick towers on a an elevated terrace. Its original Sanskrit name is unknown. The modern name in Khmer language is Prasat Kravan. The temple was dedicated to Vishnu in 921 according to an inscription on door frame.
Banteay Kdei
we’ll continue to Banteay Kdei temple. which means “A Citadel of Chambers” in English. This Buddhist temple was again built in the late 12th and early 13th century by King Jayavarman VII. This temple is always quiet because it is not the famous temple, very pleasant to walk through it and see the the carvings and architecture of the temple structure.
Ta Prohm
This temple was built in the Bayon style in the late 12th and early 13th century. Ta Prohm was originally built as a Buddhist monastery and university. One of the unique features of Ta Prohm is that it has largely been left to the jungle and the trees are literally growing right through the middle of the temple. Ta Prohm is one of the most popular temples in Siem Reap as it was used as the location for the Tomb Raider movie featuring Angelina Jolie. Ta Keo
Ta Keo was built as the state temple for Jayavarman V and he started construction in 975 AD. Unusually, the temple was never finished. There are many stories as to why Ta Keo was never completed, but nobody knows the real reason. Nowadays, Ta Keo is quite a popular temple with visitors because of its sheer size – five sanctuary towers sit on top of a 22m stepped pyramid.
Angkor Thom
The ancient capital city of the Khmer Empire. Here we can see lots of things including the Royal Palace, the Terrace of the Elephants, the Terrace of the Leper King, Bayon temple, and South Gate, a bridge flanked by 2 rows of 54 giant sandstone statues.
Phnom Bakheng
Phnom Bakheng is a temple mountain dedicated to Shiva. It was built by King Yasovarman at the end of the 9th century. Phnom means hill or mountain in English and as such, Phnom Bakheng was built at the top of a hill. This hill is perfect to see the panoramic view of Angkor Wat and watching the sunset but very crowded. If you would like to watch sunset today we recommend Southern Gate of Angkor Thom .
Angkor Wat
We’ll start early in the morning to watch sunrise at Angkor Wat. The started time will 4:30am or 5am due to different seasons. After sunrise we’ll be heading to the main temple. Angkor Wat is largest religious monument in the world and the most holy site for Cambodian ever.
Pre Rup
And We’ll go to visit East Mebon temple. It is good examples of early Khmer architecture and were built in the 10th century.
Banteay Srei
It is known as the Citadel of the Women and is a unique temple built during the Khmer empire. This temple contains many fine carvings which are said to be carved by a woman because only the delicate hands of a woman could carve something so fine! The pink sandstone make Banteay Srey a truly unique experience. On the way to the next temple you have some stops to taste local village foods as a snacks ( not lunch).
Banteay Samre
We’ll visit also Banteay Samre temple. This Hindu temple was built in the early 12th century by Kings Suryavarman II and Yasovarman II dedicated to Vishnu. It’s like a smaller replica of Angkor Wat.
Eastern Mebon
It is good examples of early Khmer architecture and were built in the 10th century.
Ta Som
Ta Som is another Buddhist temple built by the prolific King Jayavarman VII in the end of 12th century dedicated to Lokesvara Buddha
Neak Pean
Neak Pean temple is 12th century temple built by King Jayavarman VII. This temple means the “Entwined Serpents” in English and it is a Buddhist temple built on a man-made island in the middle of man-made lake .
Preah Khan
This 12th century temple translates into English as “Royal Sword” and was built by King Jayavarman VII and dedicated to his late father. It’s located 1km north of ancient city of Angkor Thom and has been largely left to the elements with the jungle literally growing through the middle of the structure
