I would like to leave my sincere compliments to the walkborder company and especially to Mrs. Paula! A great person, kind, dear, caring and concerned. She was always willing to solve the small "problems" we face, with serenity and calm. Have had a lot of patience with my daughter, because child is not easy... fatigue easier, sometimes complains. Note 10.

While planning for holiday in Portugal, I came across the 2-day private Algarve tour offered by Walkborder which was full interesting and reasonable priced. Hugo was ultra responsive to my email inquiries, so the Algarve tour was booked and confirmed. A few weeks later I discovered that the company's 6-day Porto to Lisbon tour also fitted in very well with our travel plans. After a few more emails this tour was also booked and confirmed. All through Hugo showed extreme professionalism and flexibility, often providing good answers to my numerous queries and requests (e.g. changing the tour dates, adding sightseeing spots etc). He also assigned Ruben (who received many good reviews on TripAdvisor) for both our tours. Everything was set and we were looking forward to our adventure. Came the morning of the 6-day tour and we met Ruben for a visit to Duoro Valley. It was a fun trip, the pace was good and Ruben was sensitive to our preferences e.g. tending to linger at scenic spots and taking numerous photos, haha. He also gave great food recommendations so we ended up eating in genuine Portuguese restaurants instead of tourist traps. We eagerly anticipated each day of the tour, the days were packed and we had new experiences everyday. Ruben was pleasant, polite, conscientious and very professional in his work. He would bend over backwards to fulfil our requests. On the day we travelled from Porto to Lisbon, we had an early start so as to cover two additional places i.e. Capela do Senhor da Pedra and Aveiro. I was so thrilled to see that little chapel by the sea in Capela do Senhor da Pedra and so touched by his kind gesture. This was just one example of how Ruben helped make our holidays even better. My daughter joined us later in Lisbon during the tour. Upon request, Hugo kindly accommodated her for the last day of the 6-day tour and also the entire Algarve tour. The three of us had the greatest of times at the Algarve - the beaches, the rocks, the sea, the historic relics......memories are made of these!! Portugal is such a beautiful country, Walkborder has played vital role in showing us its beauty. We were happy that we did not have to worry about the logistics of transport and visited the country with someone who became more than a driver/guide to us. Thank you Ruben, thank you Hugo (and Ivo!), thank you Walkborder. If ever I return I will surely seek your service again.

Algarve is BEAUTIFUL! The sites are spectacular. We have not seen natural beauty like this before and we have traveled extensively. Ruben our guide was EXCELLENT! He knew the area and every secret beach and cave to show us. He was very informative with regard to the history of Portugal. I highly recommend this private 2 day tour. We could not have seen everything we did without Ruben. Amazing tour. Worth it!

We spent two days with Manuel Da Sillva, one touring the Algarve as we drove from Seville to Lisbon plus a driving tour of Lisbon once we arrived, and a second day touring the Silver Coast out of Lisbon. Manuel did a fantastic job of taking us to exactly what we wanted to experience, including some things that we didn't even know to ask about. He must be a mind-reader! And, he was willing to stay out as long as we wanted - both days it was us that decided when it was time to go to the hotel.

Bruno has a lot of knowledge, local knowledge and responds perfectly to the individual wishes of his customers. Already in the run-up, as well as during the tour, he was always there for us. We are happy to be back...

We booked the private tour in the Algarve. Hugo was very quick to respond and make the necessary arrangements for the trip. We had the pleasure of having Rodrigo as our tour guide. He was very punctual at the various stops and very accommodating. We expressed our interest in seeing the Benagil caves, but the boat trip to the cave was not worth the time. However, he did make a stop at Benagil on the way so we could explore the beach area. He had the better judgement to take a detour to avoid being stuck in traffic at Lisbon, and in doing so, we got the chance to explore the town of Alcoutrim. He even indulged our bone cave fascination to make a quick stop at the cave in Evora! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and can’t wait to be back. One can expect humorous banter, beautiful landscape, and expert guidance on this tour!

  • Great way to see the whole Southern Coast

This tour was great because we were able to go to soo many places and customize along the way as we saw fit. Our guide Manuel was nice, a great driver and recommended the best restaurants! We didn't get a lot of history about each place visited but that was alright with us. I would recommend the night at Hotel Bela Vista in Portimao or at least dinner there. Tavira restaurant and Porto Novo Mil Fontes restaurant for Lunch were worth it. A MUST is the boat ride from Lagos to Benagil. If you want to see the whole Coast and the most famous summer spots for Portugues you have to do this tour.
