Tsavo East is big – Kenya’s largest park and home to lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, giraffe and dozens of other animals. Interested in colorful birds? The park offers over 500 species like the lovebird and sacred ibis. We’ll visit several watering holes known for their abundance of wildlife and watch as the animals gather to quench their thirst.
Though Taita Hills is small, it is a busy place, filled with over 50 species of large wildlife. The sanctuary is greener and more dramatic than Tsavo East, with frequent sighting of lion and elephant. We’ll spend the night here at your choice of the Sarova Taita Hills Lodge or Salt Lick Safari Lodge. Any questions or special requests? Tell us. At Natural World Kenya Safaris, it’s our business to create the perfect holiday.

Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner We’ll be up early for a busy safari day, traveling along the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway on a picturesque drive, enjoying the scenery on the way. Arriving at Tsavo East, we’ll take a short refreshment break as we anticipate sightings of wildlife ahead. The broad open plain, dotted with acacia scrub lends itself to game spotting. Plus, we’ll head to the watering holes where the wildlife gathers in this semi-arid reserve. The Aruba Dam is popular with the park’s animals and with safari-goers wishing to observe them in their natural settings. Look for buffalo, waterbuck, eland, impala and giraffe. After lunch, we’ll take one last game drive here and then it’s a short jaunt over to Taita Hills Sanctuary. In this privately-owned wildlife sanctuary, we’ll be tracking the big game like lion, leopard, elephant, giraffe and smaller wildlife such as gazelle, impala, and dik-dik.
We’ll head out for the Kenya Coast on the Mariakani-Malindi Road and enjoy a rest stop for lunch on the way.

We’ll be up for a pre-breakfast game drive to watch the wildlife come awake and enjoy the early morning light over the sanctuary’s green hills. After breakfast at our lodge, we’ll venture out for one more game drive in this compact but densely populated reserve. This will give us opportunities to view more of our favorite animals and perhaps to spot others for the first time. Taking a last look at Taita Hills, we’ll depart the reserve with photos and memories of our safari adventure.

The two-day private safari was a dream come true. In the morning the guide of Natural World Kenya Safaris took us to the huge Tsavo East National Park. On the first day, I saw lions, giraffes, zebras and huge herds of elephants. Even in the heat, the guide's enthusiasm did not diminish - he explained the behavior of each animal. When I saw the animals drinking water together next to the Galana River in the afternoon, it seemed that time had stopped. On the second day we went to Taita Hills Sanctuary - a place full of greenery, full of life. I stayed the night at the Salt Lick Safari Lodge, where I had the experience of seeing elephants near the window while sleeping. This trip will be one of the best memories of my life.
