Cuddled up in the eastern zone of Rajasthan, Sawai Madhopur is one of the prominent conurbations of Rajasthan. Popularly known as the 'Gateway to Ranthambore', the town has seen many historic episodes and reigns. Sawai Madhopur has partly plain and partly undulating hilly terrain. The South and south east part of the district has hills and broken ground which form a part of a vast track of rugged region enclosing the narrow valley of the Chambal river. Surrounded by Vindhyas & Aravalis, this place is a treat for adventure enthusiasts as well as the ones with a fascination for history, with the Ranthambore National park- the most renowned national park in northern India and the Ranthambore Fort which was recently included in the list of UNESCO’s World Heritage sites, being the main attractions.

Ranthambore Fort
The noteworthy Ranthambore Fort was built by the Chauhan rulers in the 10th century. Due to its strategic location, it was ideal to keep the enemy at bay. The fort is also related to the historical legend of the royal women performing ‘jauhar’ (self-immolation) when the Muslim invader Alauddin Khilji laid siege on this fort in 1303. The fort is characterised by temples, tanks, massive gates and huge walls.
Ranthambore National Park
Situated 14 km from Sawai Madhopur, the Ranthambore Park gets its name from the Ranthambore Fort situated within its boundaries. The National Park, situated amidst the Aravalis and Vindhya ranges is spreads over an area of 392 sq.km of thick forest punctuated with pleasant waterfalls. It is home to the elusive tiger, other animals found here include chinkara, sambhar, cheetal and over 300 species of birds.

I got to explore Ranthambore with Jagdish Ji, it was awesome! As a tour guide, he was knowledgeable, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure I had a great time. As a local he had that special knowledge and he took me to some amazing spots that I wouldn't have discovered on my own. He also made sure I had plenty of great ideas for gifts for friends and family back home. He shared some really cool stories about his childhood and life in Rajasthan as we drove to Ranthambore. I felt like I was getting a glimpse into the real Rajasthan, not just a tourist's perspective. If you're planning a trip to Ranthambore or beyond his company is the one :)! He's an absolute gem, and I highly recommend him to both locals and foreigners.

Magical experience in the national park. Many thanks to Jagdish. Smooth ride from Jaipur. Lovely accommodations at the edge of the park. Very successful safari. We saw monkeys and deer and birds by the most serene river. And then spotted a female tiger (Arrowhead) playing with her three cubs. Incredible.

Had an amazing 3 day trip to visit Ranthambhore National park. Everything was handled from the second my flight landed which was perfect especially as a solo traveller. Jagdish was my driver and was absolutely amazing, always responded instantly and helped me with anything I needed. Was a fantastic trip, just wish I had booked longer!

Great experience ! Jagdish picked us up in Jaipur in the morning and drove us to the national park. He is a 1A driver, avoids traffic jams, drives safely and patiently. He knows the best ways, so you always arrive on time - on top of that there is still exciting information about the area where you drive long.

Rajasthan is always awesome with Mr. Jagdish. His professionalism, experience, punctuality, hospitality is perfect. He greets you so well and is so knowledgeable that he tells you about things all the way. Me and my family members have been travelling with him since last 5-6 years whenever we visit Jaipur and nearby places. December is so foggy in Rajasthan but when Mr. Jagdish is your driver u can seat back and relax. I will suggest to hire him whenever one visits Rajasthan. Thanks
