What To Expect

We ride the 4WD buggies and drive through the desert of Huacachina. We stop in the top of the huge dunes to use the sandboards and continue our journey. At the end we take our time to watch the beautiful sunset.

The activity in itself was amazing. HOWEVER, it was organized very poorly. We got to the meeting point 10mn before the time, and no one was there, nor where they reachable. We had to insist to find someone that then oriented us towards the group, that was already heading towards the activity without even trying to reach us prior to understand whether we were around or not. They just didn’t really care. Other than that the activity as I mentioned were great!

Great tour! Dune buggy ride was like a roller coaster. Our driver was skilled and made sure to get us to a good spot in time to watch the amazing sunset!

The sand dunes were beautiful and dune buggy was fun and a little scarier than i thought but was a little disappointed to find out that it was not sandboarding, you just lay down on the board. The tour guide hardly spoke to us and was on his phone for the majority of the time.

Great views and enjoyable experience. Trip matched the description well, the only low mark was poor communication between tour operator and drivers to get us into a vehicle but it was corrected eventually.

The tour started out very poorly organized. There were a ton of different tours meeting at the same place and the guides showed up late. It wasn't clear who was supposed to be where. Once we got to the dunes with our driver, it was much better. This was the craziest thing we did in Peru. Driving on the dunes was like the wildest roller coaster ride I've ever been on. We were all screaming and flying out of our seats. It was a blast. Sandboarding was a lot of fun. The tall steep dunes seemed scary, but it wasn't bad. The sunset was beautiful.
