We booked this cruise with Real NZ and were lucky the day was sunny. Saw beautiful waterfalls, mountains and 2 rainbows under the waterfalls. This is only 1 of 2 places in the world where the forest, glacier and river meet! (The other place is in Patagonia). The waters were too rough to enter Tasman Sea. It was really a lovely day on the water. We enjoyed the Milford Sound short cruise although loved, loved loved the Doubtful Sound overnight cruise which was AMAZING.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience on our Milford Sound cruise. The 2-hour journey was the perfect length, taking us all the way out towards the Tasman Sea with breathtaking scenery the entire way. One of the highlights was getting so close to a waterfall that we actually got wet – such a fun and exciting moment! It really made the experience feel immersive and memorable. We were also lucky enough to see seals relaxing on the boulders, which was such a special and memorable wildlife moment. The boat itself was spotless, with very clean facilities including the toilets, which made the trip even more comfortable. We also loved the unlimited hot drinks, especially while taking in the stunning views. The staff were wonderful – friendly, professional, and the commentary throughout the cruise was informative and engaging. Overall, we loved every minute of it and would highly recommend this cruise to anyone visiting Milford Sound. Truly an unforgettable experience!

Great day to see the waterfalls because it was rainy a bit. The Captain was very informative. Even saw dolphins and seals.

Enjoyed the more intimate cruise with the smaller ship. Always try and go on a rainy day. The waterfalls were something special.

Absolutely a 'wow' experience for both my partner and I. Just an incredible time. We only live 2 hours up the road from Te Anau and decided on coming to Te Anau and Milford for our mini break. Just so delighted we did. $169 for two hours of magnificent beauty was definitely well worth the trip. We really liked how it was a smaller boat, and there were therefore smaller numbers on the trip as well. And it meant we were able to get up close and personal with the larger waterfall, which literally blew my cap off my head... and wet us a little. But it was such a lovely day it just didn't matter. The Captain and his First Mate were fabulous too. The Captain gave a fun account of all the features of the Sound, the history and some really interesting facts; in a really fun entertaining way. We loved every minute. We think this experience is best for anyone, and everyone that's able-bodied. It wouldn't be so easy if you had the likes of a walker as there was stepping up, and stepping over. But there was plenty of room to move around inside. There was 4 options of where you wanted to be - inside, out the back, or out the front; or up the top. We tried them all. Honestly, we couldn't rate Mitre Peak cruises any more highly. We'd love to go back when it's the rainy season so we can see more waterfalls; and we will be chosing Mitre Peak Cruises for that again. Thank you!

We chose a smaller boat for a more personal experience. The crew were so friendly and accommodating for our young kids. I highly recommend the Mitrepeak!

Build in time for stops along the road to Milford Sound from Te Anau. There are several scenic stops. Note the kilometer markers so you don’t pass them by. We cruised with Mitre Peak Cruises and thoroughly enjoyed the experience on a smaller less crowded vessel.
