I knew I have to try ikebana, when in Japan (Lost in translation fan :) ). And I chose very well. Mayumi sensei was patient and helpful. I enjoyed the traditional activity, but explained simply and focused on trying it with our own hands. We even got tea and little snack at the end. Overall it was very pleasant and I would recommend it to anyone interested in japanese culture.

My first ikebana course with Ishihara Miri was a wonderful experience. She took plenty of time to clearly explain the basic principles, and we even created two ikebana arrangements. I really appreciated her teaching style — patient, clear, and very attentive. The space itself was also inspiring and truly enhanced the experience. I would love to take another course with her. Highly recommended!

This was my sister and I's first time experiencing Ikebana with Ishihara Miri. To start the place so beautiful, spacious and comfortable. Having that type of environment gave us the inspiration to be very creative with our flower arrangements. We did a total of 2 flower arrangements; 1 following the shogetsu style rules and 1 freestyle. We had a lot of fun arranging flowers and getting to know Ishihara. She was very sociable, sweet and very generous. She gave us snacks from places she has been to recently, made us matcha, and gave us a parting gift. She was very informative and very helpful throughout the process of our flower arrangement. I would recommend this experience to anyone visiting tokyo region! It's a calm and unique activity!

He taught me very carefully, and even beginners could enjoy learning the secrets of fresh flowers. I was able to experience it with peace of mind because the teacher taught me gently.

This was one of the highlights of our whole trip! The instructor is an award-winning ikebana practitioner. She was engaging, informative, and encouraging during our lesson. All materials are provided, as well as hot tea while you listen to her instructions. The lesson was easy for my sister and I to follow, and we had a great time creating our arrangements and chatting with our instructor. The room is very traditional with alcoves for displaying your arrangements and getting some great pictures. It's in a lovely modern building that is part of a Buddhist temple. Don't let the address deter you. It is not in a "touristy" part of town, but it is near a bus line and easy to find.

This was a highlight of our trip to Japan! This was a small class with hands-on instruction from an amazing Ikebana teacher who is classically trained and teaches classes to students from all around the world looking for certification. We were easily able to understand her instruction and history of this art. She helped us with our arrangements, giving us helpful tips and guiding us through to create beautiful arrangements. We also received Matcha and a delicious snacks and chatted with her for a while afterward. We loved it so much that we purchased an instruction book so that we could remember and recreate our lessons! This location seemed a bit far from central Tokyo at first, but it was easily accessible by train. We were so glad we booked this class!

Had a lovely experience with Miri-san. We learned about the origins of ikebana and were able to put together 2 arrangements a piece, one in moriyama style and one free style. She gave excellent, gentle directions and shared her love of the beauty of nature. Arigato!!

I had a really wonderful one-on-one ikebana class with Miri-san! She was very kind and patient, and it was a relaxing and engaging experience. I would highly recommend adding her class to your Tokyo itinerary. If I'm ever there again, I will definitely go back for a second lesson.

This Sogetsu Ikebana workshop was amazing! Miri was an incredible teacher and was very patient in explaining the principles and how to create an ikebana masterpiece that allowed your personality to shine through the art form. I really enjoyed expressing myself through Ikebana and would recommend this workshop to anyone looking to learn to appreciate nature’s beauty more.
