What To Expect
Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria
The Mouraria neighborhood is one of the most traditional neighborhoods of Lisbon. It was in this area that the Moors went to live after the conquest of Lisbon by D. Afonso Henriques in 1147 until they were expelled in the 15th century. There are few vestiges left from that time. However, Mouraria is still today the most multicultural neighborhood in the city. In all, 56 nationalities live together in this neighborhood, most of them from Bangladesh, China, India, Pakistan and Mozambique.
Rua da Bica
The Elevador da Bica, officially called Ascensor da Bica, is one of the most emblematic elevators in Lisbon, Portugal. Opened in 1892, it connects Rua de São Paulo to Largo do Calhariz, up the steep and picturesque Rua da Bica de Duarte Belo. It has been an electrically powered funicular since 1914 and is famous for its historic charm, yellow cars and enchanting view over the city and the River Tagus. It is also classified as a National Monument.

5.00Rui was an amazing guide! Great communication, friendly, and welcoming. I was traveling with my mom who is struggling with mobility and stamina. I booked this so we could see more of Lisbon without wearing her out. It worked out well for us. I'm sure we saw parts of the city that others in our Viking group didn't see.

5.00Our driver was very knowledgeable of his city. He drove very well. Took us to many interesting places. Very nice person. We cannot wait to return to Lisbon and book this tour again. He can customize to what you want. He is very flexible. We asked for a 3 hour tour.....he really accommodated us well. We were a family of 3 with one folding wheelchair. He helped putting the chair in and out. Took us to step free places.....always being mindful of our needs. I want to come back soon!!!! No need to look any further. We have found the best 🥰

5.00What a fantastic tour !! Rui took us not only to tourist spots but also local spots that the tourists would never know about so that we could get good pictures of everything. He is very knowledgeable about history and the culture of Portugal and speaks English fluently.

He spoke spanish and told all interesting history facts to my family which they loved, he was super nice and the travel route was perfect enough for my family. I recommend everyone to try at least once while going to lisbon this! It's a really good experience to see the local places and the tourist ones in one go. Thank you so much Rui!

5.00We had a great time on the Tuk Tuk tour. Roy was fantastic! He brought us to all the viewpoints and many local neighborhoods. We especially loved the cherry cordial shots from the local woman who lives in the house on the steps. We were starving so he brought us to a local bar where we got the famous Bifana sandwich .we also got many restaurant recommendations. Highly recommend !!

5.00We booked Rui for a 2 hour tour of Lisbon. Having visited a few times before, we were keen to see things beyond the "normal tourist sites". Communication from Rui was fantastic, quickly answering all my questions and taking my booking. In lead up to the tour, all meeting info etc was confirmed and we quickly found Rui after disembarking our cruise ship. We saw some wonderful places which we never would have found on our own. An absolutely wonderful 2 hours spent swing Lisbon through a locals eyes. Thanks Rui, we will be in touch next time we are in Lisbon.

5.00Ruil and his brother João were amazing tour guides and showed us the less touristy sides of Alfama and Belem. I definitely recommend booking a tuktuk tour with them as we saved so much time seeing the sights walking the hills of Lisbon and figuring out public transport. So convenient to have a tour! Recommend them! Thank you so much to an amazing time!
