3 Days Gorilla Trekking BwindiBriefing for gorilla trekking takes place at 7:30am and is conducted by the Warden and his team of Rangers at the park offices. All gorilla trackers must be at the park by this time and attend the briefing which is an overview of what to expect during the gorilla trekking. A gorilla safari in Bwindi forest offers you several gorilla groups to choose from. The Rangers will take into consideration your overall fitness. Gorilla tracking is challenging but you will find the experience awesome once you see the primates. It is always amazing to watch a family of mountain gorillas. You could spend hours just watching the little ones roll around and play. Mountain Gorillas are very playful and curious – don’t be surprised if they come too close to you. While with the gorillas, its important to listen to instructions from your guide. Never make sudden movements while with mountain gorillas.
Batwa Cultural Heritage
Batwa Cultural Experience After spending one hour with the gorilla family, you will be led back to the starting point where our Guide/Driver will be waiting to take you back for lunch at your hotel. You will head out to visit the Batwa Pygmy cultural community in the afternoon. As noted earlier, the Batwa originally lived in the forest but often had conflicts with the gorillas. The government decided to relocate them elsewhere to allow for smoother gorilla conservation activities. We had a great time on our private Gorilla trekking tour. The guide put us on a gorilla family that had lots of babies and a very chilled silverback. The trekking wasn’t too strenuous and it was a surreal experience. The tour did not go as planned but the guide ensured we were well looked after and taken to the airport on time. Definitely recommend if spending an hour with the mountain gorillas is on your bucket list.

Sankofa Afrika Tours and Travel exceeded my expectations as a home tourist exploring the Pearl of Africa. I was amazed by how thoughtfully the team crafted an itinerary that showcased Uganda’s breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage. The safari to Murchison Falls National Park was unforgettable. Seeing elephants, giraffes, and lions in the wild was thrilling, and the boat cruise along the Nile offered an up-close view of hippos and crocodiles. What stood out the most was the cultural visit to the Acholi community. Sankofa arranged an interactive experience where I learned traditional dances, tasted local delicacies, and listened to fascinating folklore. The professionalism and friendliness of the team made me feel comfortable and well cared for throughout the journey. For anyone seeking to reconnect with Uganda’s beauty and heritage, Sankofa Afrika Tours is unmatched.

Uganda is home to some truly beautiful, hidden waterfalls, and Sankofa took us on a guided trek to explore these wonders. We hiked through lush greenery, encountering small villages along the way, before reaching a spectacular waterfall where we could cool off and take photos. Sankofa’s guide was excellent at explaining the unique flora and fauna along the trail, making the hike informative as well as visually stunning. An absolute gem of an experience for nature lovers!
