These twin parks show off the best of Kenya’s wildlands – rolling hills, great endless red-dirt savannahs, volcanic lava beds, and lush green springs. And with this palette of landscapes comes every sort of African wildlife. Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks are known for their great populations of elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard, and rhino.
For 3 days we’ll explore the Tsavo “sister parks”, Kenya’s oldest and largest reserves, discovering the big game as well as giraffe, impala, hartebeest, monkey, and baboon. For sheer variety of wildlife and landscape, few parks can match these two venerable natural worlds.

Tsavo National Park East
6:00 am. Your driver/guide will pick you up at your Nairobi hotel, airport, or location of your choice. Climb into your private 4 x 4 Landcruiser Jeep to start your safari along the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway. We’ll make rest and refreshment stops along the way and arrive at Tsavo East around noon. The vistas that greet you will be immense – this is a park of big sky and endless savannah. We’ll have lunch and then roll out to explore the park. On the great plains here you’ll notice the rusty, red dust and the large herds of elephants that like to roll in it, giving themselves a rosy coat. We’ll also head to the waterholes where the wildlife go to escape the park’s arid environment. Of note: Aruba Dam and Mudanda Rock are river-fed locations that are great for elephant spotting. During your 3-day safari, look to your driver/guide for: information about the park and its inhabitants, any questions you may have, and most of all, his spirit of adventure and fun.

We’re on safari time now – the birds and wildlife have probably woken you up early. So, let’s go for your first game drive of the day and take in the great park in the morning light. We’ll follow with a safari breakfast at your accommodation and then more exploration, looking for buffalo, eland, impala, elephant, and of course, lion. But we have another reserve to discover – sister park Tsavo West. During the quick drive there we’ll be tracking for still more wildlife. Riding into Tsavo West, you’ll immediately see that this park is greener and accented with rolling hills and foliage. We’ll visit the water-fed oasis of Mzima Springs, a lush haven that is home to hippo, crocodile, exotic fish, and a big draw for the park’s other thirsty wildlife. We can even leave our Jeep and explore the palm embellished banks of the springs on foot. Look for the rich array of migrating birdlife that flock here as well.

For our 3rd day on safari let’s go for another early game drive to check off any wildlife we may have missed. Have you yet spotted bushbaby, hartebeest, or impala? How about monkeys in the nearby acacia trees? During this cool time of the day with the easy golden light, animal viewing is especially fun. We’ll pause for breakfast at our accommodation and then pile into the Jeep for a final bonus game drive as we head out the park. We should be back in Nairobi in the late afternoon, where we’ll drop you off at your hotel, the airport, or other destination of your choice. 5.00Tsavo East and Tsavo West are two parks that have really impressed me. Africa Kenya Safaris has arranged the entire trip in a great way. Our guide Elias was so experienced that it was easy for him to find each animal! The vast red earth savannah, the volcanic lava beds in the distance and the green Mzima Springs - every place was as beautiful as the picture. On the first day, I saw huge elephant herds, lion pride, giraffe and buffalo. The lodge was comfortable, the food was fresh and every moment of the trip was safe and enjoyable. It is impossible to forget the wild beauty of Tsavo once you see it!

5.00Africa Kenya Safaris took us on a three-day tour of Tsavo East and Tsavo West, and it was an amazing experience. The views of the two parks were strikingly different - the red sand dunes, the mountains, and the green waterfalls. Our guide was very friendly, knew how to find and explain the animals. The best thing was to see the elephants - they were rolling on the red soil. The road was a little long and dusty at times, but the beauty of nature made that suffering forgotten. Overall, it was a really pleasant trip.

5.00The 3-Day Private Tour to Tsavo East and Tsavo West is one of the most memorable experiences. The vast red-clay savannah and rolling hills visible in the distance seem to touch the heart of Africa. The most surprising thing is the diversity here—volcanic lava beds on one side, lush green springs on the other. The majesty of elephants and lions is striking on daily game drives, along with giraffes, impalas and baboons that make our safari even more colorful. Anyone who wants to experience the true wilderness of Africa should definitely do this twin parks tour of Tsavo.

5.00What an experience!! Africa Kenya Safaris has made my safari group fall in love with Kenya. I have been using them since 2023 and this was the sixth group they have handled for me. David has always been easy to work with and the tour guides Joseph, Sisto and Charles made the tour worthwhile. The accommodation was super and the holiday group was happy.

5.00June 2025 gifted us something unforgettable a 3-day private escape deep into the untamed beauty of Tsavo West National Park. With my closest friends beside me, we set off on a journey that felt more like a dream painted in earthy tones, wild skies, and silent roars. We booked Africa Kenya Safari as a our partner and they are very helpful and hospitable. Our guide, a storyteller at heart, brought every moment to life. We encountered scarlet-dusted elephants, shadowy leopards, and giraffes moving like poetry across the horizon. The silence of the wild was humbling, broken only by the echo of distant lion calls or the laughter of our group echoing under the starlit sky. Tsavo West didn’t just show us animals. It showed us how alive silence can feel-how friendships grow deeper when surrounded by wildness and wonder.

5.00Our 3 days in the heart of Tsavo West National Park with my beautiful girlfriend felt like living in a dream, a perfect blend of adventure, love, and nature’s untouched beauty. Our private safari began with a warm welcome and a scenic drive that took us deep into the wilderness. Surrounded by dramatic landscapes, volcanic hills, and acacia-dotted plains, we saw elephants walking gracefully across the red earth and giraffes stretching their necks under the golden sun. Each moment was shared with smiles, soft laughter, and the joy of discovering the wild together. Mornings began with sunrise game drives-cool breezes and golden light making everything feel surreal. We watched lions bask in the morning sun, zebras grazing peacefully, and hippos splashing playfully in Mzima Springs. She leaned her head on my shoulder, and I wished that moment could last forever.

5.00My solo safari with Africa Kenya Safari was an absolute dream come true! From the moment I landed, David and his team ensured a seamless experience. I took the 4 Days Classic Parks Safari package and the lodges were comfortable and luxurious, and the food was delicious. But the real highlight was the game drives with my exceptional guide, James Mwangi. His knowledge and passion for wildlife were terrific. He skillfully navigated the parks, bringing us incredibly close to a diverse range of animals, from the sleepy lions to majestic elephants to even playful and cheeky monkeys and baboons. One of the most breathtaking moments was witnessing the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro from Amboseli National Park. Its snow-capped peak rising above the African savannah was truly magnificent. I'm still in awe of the breathtaking sights and unforgettable encounters. Africa Kenya Safari truly delivered a personalised and unforgettable safari experience. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking an authentic African adventure.
