I recently joined Danakil Depression on a small group tour with Aman Ethiopia Tours & Travel. It was a really last-minute reservation, to contact us at midnight the day before we left. Surprisingly, the company was online 24 hours a day and responded immediately. And they arranged our domestic tickets quickly and flawlessly. The procedure was very smooth and completely stress-free. The tour itself was amazing and an experience I will never forget. I am truly grateful for all the care they have taken to reach us despite our urgent requests. Thank you, Aman Ethiopia Tours & Travel, for your wonderful service.

Danakil Depression Small Group Tour via Semera (February 4-6, 2026) I booked a tour of Danakil Depression and Omo Valley with Aman Ethiopia Tours on my own from Tokyo. I don’t usually use TripAdvisor because I’m not very good at English, but this experience was so good that I decided to write it. I took a small group tour via Semera from February 4th to 6th and it was very well arranged from start to finish. Semera's Aman team was amazing and they explained safety well at each location, so I could participate in the harsh environment with confidence. The Land Cruiser vehicle was in good condition and the driver was very experienced. They drove calmly in the desert, on salt lakes, and on rough roads, making long-distance travel more comfortable than I expected. I didn't see any lava on the volcano at the time of my visit, but Dalor was truly amazing. The colours and terrain are like another planet. In the remote Danakil Depression, I felt that a reliable team was very important. It was an amazing trip to remember.

Our guide was very well-trained and had excellent knowledge of the country's geography, Ethiopian history, and great empathy. The daily stages were well-planned and manageable for everyone. Unfortunately, Erta Ale prevented us from seeing its lava lake because it was bubbling and churning so intensely, and thick smoke was billowing out. All the trips in the Dallous were also well-timed, and the tours were well-chosen. Another big compliment to the cooks; the food was really good and geared towards tourists – it tasted excellent, was perfectly seasoned, and, most importantly, there was plenty of it, and no one had any stomach problems! There were plenty of drinks available – including beer! The package deal included everything - no hidden extra charges (except for the tip at the end of the trip)! The group size of 7 people was also ideally chosen. Our driver was very careful and tried to keep the "shaky" ride to a minimum. ... In summary: a truly fantastic tour, a perfect, helpful team, and a professional tour organizer, "Aman"

On New Year's Eve 2026, I went on a Danakil Depression tour through Aman Ethiopia Tours and Travel and it was a truly amazing experience from start to finish. It was a small group tour, so it was comfortable to travel and very well organized. Solomon , our guide, was absolutely amazing. Knowledgeable and calm, they always put our safety and understanding first, even in harsh and special environments. They explained the history, geology and local culture in a way that was very professional. The driver, Baric , was equally amazing. Driving in Danakil is never easy, but he was skilled, patient and reliable throughout. I was always able to feel safe on the move. The whole tour went as planned, on time, and the content was as described in advance. New Year's Eve at Danakil Depression was an unforgettable memory, and thanks to Aman Ethiopia Tours it was a smooth and enjoyable journey. If you are planning a trip to Danakil Depression, Aman Ethiopia Tours and Travel is the place to go, especially if you are looking for a small group of quality guides and drivers.

I had the pleasure of joining a small group tour with Aman Ethiopia Tours from December 19 to December 24, and I’m truly glad I did. The team was highly professional, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the entire 6-day journey. Our first stop, the Danakil Depression, was an eye-opening experience. The landscapes were unlike anything I’ve ever seen before, and our guide made sure to provide context about the area's history and geological significance. The trip to the Tigray churches was equally impressive. The rock-hewn churches are masterpieces, and it was clear that our guide had a deep understanding of their cultural and spiritual importance. The whole experience felt seamless, with thoughtful planning and excellent coordination from the Aman Ethiopia Tours team. From transportation to accommodations, everything was well-organized and comfortable. The group size was perfect, allowing for a more intimate and personalized experience. If you're looking for a well-rounded and professionally guided tour of these unique parts of Ethiopia, I would definitely recommend Aman Ethiopia Tours.

We were picked up by our guide (Solomon) at our hotel in Semera and went straight to the first Ertale. Throughout the trip Solomon proved his experience as a driver and guide. He showed us the most beautiful spots in the Danakil depression and involved us in deciding where to go and when to leave. The accommodations in open tents were fantastic. The first night, however, was very windy. The second night we spent at simple campsites, but that was also the attraction. Staying surrounded by mountains and rivers is just great. Make sure to bring warm clothes, a flashlight and a power bank. You can charge your phone a lot, but it's nice to be able to do that in the tent if necessary. Don’t worry about the quality or amount of food, because there is plenty to eat at every meal. The chef prepared excellent dishes throughout the day. The absolute highlight of this trip were the salt lakes – just incredible! There were so many, and Solomon made sure we saw every one of them. You noticed his experience as a guide, how he communicated with the others by radio and tracked down every hiding place of the animals. It was an incredibly exciting day! Overall, this was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life, and I highly recommend a trip to the Danakil depression with Aman Ethiopia Tours. They really are the best. I could talk about this journey for hours, but I'd rather let my pictures speak for themselves.

We booked this three-day tour of the Danakil Valley thanks to an online recommendation from Aman. We had booked the cheap group tour, but in the end there were only eight people instead of 13. From the first request, the communication was perfect. We received a very detailed description of the tour and were able to clarify all further questions and comments via WhatsApp. The day before the trip we were picked up at our hotel in Addis Ababa for a brief briefing. This was very pleasant and calmed us just before the start of our three-day tour through the Danakil depression. We loved the desert rides in the Danakil depression. The scenery was breathtaking! The weather was warm, but they were really great adventures. In Suri we only experienced a little rain for one day. The Dallol Tourist Camp in Danakil was very comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food, however, was only mediocre. The Aman Ethiopia Tours team was very accommodating and served us an excellent dinner with a wide range of food at the camp in Suri.
