Pickup at 5:00 AM at your hotel having your breakfast on the way and drive to Mikumi for 6 hours with stop for hot lunch in Mikumi then drive for afternoon and evening game drive inside the park while dinner and overnight will be at Mikumi cottage inside the park. Accommodation inside a park gives you a chance to explore more about animals' behaviors in the night plus an early impressive sun rise game drive (a time where many killings happen).

Before breakfast at 6:00 AM start a game drive in the park, morning game viewing, this is the best time because most of the killings takes place. Make a game drive up to 8:30 am then you will go for breakfast. Continue with a game with the packed lunches leave for the game drive inside the park to big cats of Mikumi national park, hippos, crocodiles and many more. Take your lunch in afternoon and proceed with the game drive while heading to Camp Bastian for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Maasai Culture tour then safari back to Dar es Salaam

Mikumi National Park

After breakfast we'll be interested to show you Maasai culture where you will see the tribe's customs and traditions plus many other things, then you will go to the hotel and pack your bag back to Dar es salaam, with packed lunches depart for en route game drive along Mikumi. Arrive at 3:30 PM at the hotel for other arrangements.

Stefan in Mikumi was phenomenal. In one day we got close ups on all the best animals - lions, baboons, giraffes, antelopes, vervets, southern ground Hornbill and the rest. He really knew his stuff. Would recommend to anyone. A very reliable pick.

Absolutely incredible experience with Stephano from Smile With Us Tours on our 3-day safari, especially our unforgettable day in Mikumi National Park! Stephano is hands-down one of the best guides we’ve ever had—knowledgeable, calm under pressure, and full of passion for wildlife and Tanzanian culture. Despite it being rainy season—which always brings a few surprises—he handled every challenge with total professionalism and an easygoing attitude that kept the day flowing smoothly. We were thrilled to spot 3 of the Big Five (elephants, buffalo, and lions!) amidst the lush green scenery of Mikumi. The park itself is a hidden gem, especially during the wet season when the landscape bursts into vibrant life. Herds of zebra and wildebeest grazed the plains, giraffes moved elegantly through the trees, and hippos wallowed happily in flooded pools. After our game drive, Stephano took us on a fascinating visit to a Maasai village—a truly eye-opening cultural experience. The warmth and hospitality of the Maasai people, their traditions, and their songs and dances added such depth to our trip. It was humbling and unforgettable. We ended the day at Camp Bastian, a charming eco-lodge tucked into the forest with great food, friendly staff, and a relaxing atmosphere to unwind after an action-packed day. This safari was the perfect mix of adventure, nature, and culture, all made possible by Stephano’s expert guiding. Smile With Us Tours exceeded all expectations—we couldn’t recommend them more highly.

Fantastic 5-night safari at Mikumi, Nyerere and Udzungwa Mountains parks with Smile with us. The staff with whom we communicated for the organization was very helpful and prepared to accommodate our requests. Guide Hassan speaks good Italian and managed our entire trip with great professionalism. The driver was competent and professional. The hotels we stayed at (Bastian Camp and Nyerere Tended camp ) are quality hotels with great accommodations, exquisite cuisine and exceptional staff. The hotel inside Mikumi Park (Bandas camp) offers very simple accommodation and cuisine but still equipped with everything you need. Doing this type of safaris with car trips was fascinating because it allowed us to see and learn about many local realities. Mikumi and Nyerere parks are smaller than those in the north but with the great advantage of a smaller presence of tourists. The Nyerere is still quite an authentic park! We saw, even very closely, giraffes, antelopes, elephants, lions, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, hyenas, several birds. Fantastic excursions to the Maasai village, the safari boat and the exit to the Udzungwa Mountains. Particular and curious is the walking safari of about two hours with Dr. Simba to discover the traditions related to the different plants of the savannah. In short, INDIVIDUAL and not group safari, EXCEPTIONAL! Complimenti Smile with us!
