This unique kayak and snorkel trip takes place in the crystal-clear waters of the Virgin Islands National Park. Our professional guide will instruct you in the basics of kayaking on the beach in Cruz Bay. Next, we paddle to uncrowded Scott Beach, which is one of the prettiest white-sand beaches on the island. There, we will snorkel with sea turtles and stingrays! You'll learn about the endangered green turtles that feed on the seagrass and nest on the beach. In the summer and fall, the turtles lay their eggs in the sand on this beach and we often see their nests. After snorkeling here and enjoying the beach, we'll paddle back to Cruz Bay.

What To Expect
We begin on the beach in Cruz Bay, where we go over some basic kayak instruction and safety before setting off. Next, we paddle out of the bay, around Lind Point and along St. John's North Shore, past Solomon and Honeymoon Beaches to Scott Beach. It's approximately a 40-45 minute paddle from Cruz Bay to here. Scott Beach is a beautiful, white sand beach that's inaccessible by road, which means we often have this beach to ourselves. Just a few yards off the beach, there's a seagrass bed, which is a gathering spot for sea turtles who feast on the grass. If you've never had the chance to snorkel with turtles, this is the place to do it! The water is clear and mostly calm, and the turtles and stingrays are plentiful. We'll spend about an hour here, snorkeling and enjoying the beach before kayaking back to Cruz Bay.

5.00It’s a lot of work but totally worth it!! Patrick was awesome and super knowledgeable about the sea life/island. We saw turtles, rays, puffer fish, sea urchins, a lobster and a zillion fish. Kids 10, 12 and 13 loved it and so did the adults!

5.00Andrew was a fantastic guide. He is well versed in St John and was very safety conscious but funny. He was able to identify every fish we saw while snorkeling (and we saw lots of them) and brought up a few animals for us to hold. Jake was new to the outfit but very friendly and also kept a close eye on us. We also saw turtles, an octopus and a moray eel. The cay was only accessible by boat so was very quiet. My only cautions: the kayaking was pretty long and tiring to get out to the cay. One couple turned around pretty quickly (escorted by Jake). The way back was easier. It also went longer than advertised - until 1 pm. It was not a problem at all, just wanted everyone to be aware to allow extra time. All in all it was very fun and I highly recommend.

5.00We had such a great experience on our kayak and snorkel tour. Our guides Jay and Kai were so knowledgable, so funny, and were doing THE WORK to show us everything that they could on this short trip. I got to hold a couple of sea creatures that they found and it was EPIC. Kai even gave us his waterproof speaker for the kayak journey "for the vibes" and it rocked. 10/10 recommend these guys. It was a super last minute decision to book it on one of our free days and it was 1000% worth it.

3.00The kayaking around the beaches were amazing. Our guide Jay was very informative about the island and history. We DID NOT sea and turtles or learn anything about them. We did see lots of fish and got to hold a Brittle star. On the beach, we stopped at, there was 2 iguanas that walked fairly close to us. The experience was fun but we were sore after kayaking for 45 mins one way, an 45 mins back!
