What To Expect
Montgomery Tours
The 3-hour tour will begin with a short preview with a brief questions and answers portion and next, we will began our driving tour of the civil right sites throughout the city of Montgomery. We will work our way past the historical Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church where Martin Luther King Jr helped to organize the Montgomery Bus Boycott in the church's basement and also a short drive away the Dexter Baptist Church Parsonage, which served as home to twelve pastors of the church between 1920 and 1992. The group will also see Alabama State Capitol, First Baptist Church, Alabama State University, Trinity Lutheran Church, Ms. Rosa Parks Apartment, Greyhound Bus Station, Holt Street Baptist Church, if time will allow. Our private professional tour guide will show you the best of Montgomery Alabama has to offer. Note: This is a Private driving tour that uses my van.

3.00This is just a driving tour. You do not get out of the vehicle unless you request a stop to take a photo. It was good, but it’s not that interesting to drive by everything and not stop anywhere. Much better to see if fewer things but go out of the vehicle and really explore. Also importantly the tour was supposed to be three hours. It was only 2.5 hours. It was supposed to begin at 9 AM and the day before the tour guide said that he would pick us up at 8:30. I requested 9 o’clock per the booking and that is when we left but we were back at our hotel by 11:30.
Don’t skip this.

5.00The tour was excellent. The tour started with an overview of the history relative to Montgomery. As we were driving through out the city our tour guide (Mr. William) shared information regarding the buildings and various neighborhoods. Additionally, he took time to answer all of our questions. I highly recommend this tour.

5.00The tour was awesome. Rey comprehensive and gave us a good overview of the city, its culture and history. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, smart and shared important facts about the city, famous residents, government, cultural sites, universities and major landowners. It was a wonderful experience.

5.00Mr. Williams is a thoughtful and expert tour guide. There were two of us, my 10 year old granddaughter and me. He curated our 3 hour tour towards our interest in Rosa Parks. He arrived at our hotel more than a half hour early in order to insure that we got to the museum for the Rosa Parks Program that day. He is a wealth of historical knowledge and he is an excellent driver. He knows Montgomery like the back of his hand. He is sensitive to the physical needs of his clients both children and adults. I recommend him if you want to get an overview of the history and geography of the area. He is quite pleasant and courteous.

5.00We were picked up at our VRBO by Jake. He was early and very polite. We drove past a lot of historical sites, museums, and cemeteries. Jake explained everything that we were seeing. He provided context for a lot of facts that we knew. We can't wait to come back and visit a lot of places that we learned about. We highly recommend this for mixed age families who can't do a lot of walking.

5.00Jake, our guide, was wonderful! He gave us the perfect private tour of Montgomery...a city filled with so much history and charm. My daughter and I were impressed with Jake's depth of knowledge, communication skills and thoroughness. He greatly surpassed our expectations and taught us so much history of this wonderful city and people. Learning more about civil rights history, and how Montgomery was in many cases the epicenter, gave us such an appreciation of what was both endured and conquered over the years. If you can spare 3 hours, book this tour. You won't regret it!
