We had a great time in this private tour, the experience was better than I expected after reading the description. The transportation was comfortable and we were able to beat the crowds to Olympia. The winery/olive oil place was beautiful and they were very welcoming. Last the beach was more of a beach club and while it was a little crowded it was a great place to take in the views, have a drink, and go for a little swim.

Had an amazing day with Stathis! We booked him over a cruise excursion. He picked us up right at the port in Katakolo to, in his words, “minimize our walking”. We avoided long lines at Olympia under his guidance. He then drove us to a local winery and olive oil marker. The wine was phenomenal, but the olive oil and their selections are out of this world. Magna Grecia has a multi-year record of one of the best olive oil lineups in the world by the way. He then drove us to a beautiful beach for a drip and drink. Should we be back in Katakolo and Olympia, we’ll be booking with Stathis again!

Greece is July is hot and I mean hot. Walking on gravel and marble makes it hotter. If you can stand the heat no problem. If not target October for Greece. Tour was good and offered a mostly self guided exploration of Olympia ruins and museum. Our guide Nancy advised she was not licensed so she could not go into the exhibits. There are placard displays to describe the various areas around Olympia. You can self pace your walk and in July take breaks in the shade. The wine tour is actually an olive oil tour that also has wine. You can do the tasting or up charge slightly for the lunch experience . For us it was only $4 euro. Red wine is my preference. While mostly olive oil it was a good tour but quick up to the lunch then you have time to your self. After lunch you can purchase oils etc and they have an option to ship to you. Anyywhere in the world. Some of our group chose to get off the tour bus early and shop on our way back to the ship. My only suggestion for improvement would be to offer the pick up right outside the ship as many other tour operators did this. The walk to the port entrance is not bad but a little long in the heat as you get started. The tour did drop the rest of the group off at the ship entrance which again had me wondering why the pick up wasn’t there. I would recommend this style private tour and might suggest a different tour guide. Ours was good but this could have been better with the correct licensed guide.

Very friendly local who was extremely knowledgeable of the area. We enjoyed this tour! Was very flexible and adjusted things to what we wanted to see and do. Would definitely choose this over a large group tour as it felt more personal!
