Named after the flower, Rose Island is a beautiful 7-mile long island located three miles due east of Paradise Island which offers pristine white sand beaches surrounded by numerous populated live coral reefs. Overlooking Sandy Cay, or better known as Gilligan’s Island, numerous commercials and movies were filmed here including 1965’s James Bond “Thunderball” which they filmed the crash landing of a Vulcan Bomber.

5.00This was our second charter with Captain Andoni and Reel Dreams, and once again it was outstanding. Both times we fished aboard their flagship 53-foot Hatteras, Dream Works. Our group of eight had a fantastic time. No one knows the waters off Nassau better than Captain Andoni, and his crew, Sam and Justin, are top-notch. The boat itself is beautiful and very comfortable. Whether you are relaxing up on the flybridge, hanging out in the spacious indoor lounge, or out back on the fishing deck, there is something for everyone. The trip begins with a safety briefing, which, as an old-time seafarer, I especially appreciate. It shows that the captain takes his responsibilities seriously and puts safety first. Before leaving the dock, Captain Andoni also explains the day’s options – whether to head out to the deeper blue water (which can be choppier depending on the weather) or stay closer to shore for a smoother ride. Getting input from his guests up front is another sign of a captain who wants the best possible experience for everyone aboard. The boat is fully stocked; just bring your own food and adult beverages, and be ready for a great day on the water. We had a great morning catching barracuda and wahoo. When we returned to the dock, Sam filleted the wahoo for us, and we took it right over to the Poop Deck Restaurant at the marina, where they cooked it up fresh for our lunch. What a perfect way to end the trip! If you are looking for the best charter fishing experience in the Bahamas, I highly recommend that you choose Reel Dreams!

5.00We had a great time. Captain Joel and Sammie were awesome. They worked with us to get us on some fish and then we cruised for a while and went to Rose Island to swim with the pigs. My kids loved it. The pigs were super friendly and not aggressive like you hear at other spots.

5.00Captain Doni and mate Jordan were professional, friendly, and effective fishermen. It was not happening for us (or anyone else) on the troll, so the team switched to bottom fishing and caught ~20 small groupers and a Queen Trigger. Kids loved it!
