What To Expect
Camara De Lobos
Câmara de Lobos, located on Madeira's south coast, was the first place inhabited by João Gonçalves Zarco, the navigator who discovered this 'pearl of the Atlantic'. The municipality stands out for its centuries-old fishing tradition.
Cabo Girao
One of Madeira top viewpoints, Cabo Girão skywalk, one of the highest sea cliffs in the World with 580m The Cabo Girão viewpoint offers a unique perspective over the cities of Câmara de Lobos and Funchal: an urban scenery framed by a natural amphitheatre facing south. In the background, it is possible to see Fajã do Rancho and Fajã do Cabo Girão, which stand out for the small areas of cultivated land at the foot of the cliffs.

5.00Juan was a lovely guide with plenty of knowledge, charisma and exceptional English skills making the entire journey very comfortable. He adapted our tour as appropriate through the day as some members of the (small - 5 people) group didn’t drink, so we went to view some waterfalls instead of a Poncha tasting. The vehicle was comfortable and clean with plenty of space for everyone, would highly recommend Juan and Nature Connections for tours in the future.

5.00Amazing tour! Ricardo, our guide was extremely knowledgeable, and we were able to see many of the sights in Madeira. We lucked out with a very clear and sunny day, even in the Fanal forrest. I look forward to returning to the island and will definitely book a tour with Ricardo again. Wonderful experience on a beautiful island!

5.00The driver/host was excellent. 4 x 4 Jeep Tour to West and Northwest. I forget the driver’s name. He was punctual, friendly, knowledgeable, easy-going. He certainly knows Funchal. His driving was excellent. The off-roading was exciting. My wife’s first experience with off-roading. We saw lots of places in the one day. The timing was good. We had a family of four in our group. Two children, ages 2 and 5. The driver was excellent with them. They sat in the two back seats and he talked to them, and they sang to us. Was like a party! An all-round good experience.

5.00We had an absolutely amazing time with our guide. He was so knowledgeable about the history of the island and answered any questions we had. The routes we took, we would never have seen on our own and the timings for each stop were just right. Fanal forest was a must see!

5.00Great trip out with João. We spent the day together in a Discovery visiting a variety of places on all types of road. We enjoyed the off-road ones best! João was very knowledgeable and gave suitable facts and history for each place. He was knowledgeable on birds and trees and other flora and fauna. He answered all our questions, no matter what they were about, but also made it a fun and relaxing journey. The timings at places were adaptable to our wishes. He made sure we were happy throughout the tour. We liked driving through the eucalyptus forests with the top cover off the Discovery, the fanal trees in the mist were beautiful, swimming in the lava pools at Porto Moniz was a good way to refresh ourselves before a snack, the views everywhere were beautiful. Great opportunity for photography. Nature Connections were so nice and pleasant to communicate with from booking several weeks ago through to saying goodbye to João today. We would book them again. Thank you again to João, best representative of Madeira we've met so far.

5.00Ricardo was an incredible tour guide. He is passionate about the island and incredibly knowledgeable. We learnt so much and had a ton of fun, he was also so kind to our 5 year old daughter. This tour was definitely something I would recommend to anyone coming to Madeira as you see so much of the island in one day.

5.00Ricardo was our guide and driver for the day. My friend and myself were the only participants on this trip. Ricardo is so very knowledgeable about the Island and gave us so much information which we gladly soaked up. He is also very familiar with the old original roads in the Island and we used some of these wonderful roads during the day. They were very interesting and great fun. Ricardo stopped at so many different places not always villages or sights but sometimes on the side of the road to point out fruit and how it is grown. Vegetables, how the people of Madeira farm the land of precarious ledges and grow their fantastic fresh food. How they grow several foods on the same piece of land together. It was all very fascinating for us. We had a fantastic day. Saw so many wonderful views and sights. Learned so much from Ricardo about the Island and the people. We were dropped off tired and very very happy! We will be back Ricardo!
