Along the route, you'll see breathtaking views of grassland plains dotted with ancient baobab trees, traditional Maasai huts, and livestock herded by nomadic people. Tarangire National Park is notable for its old baobab trees, tree climbing pythons, and the biggest concentration of African elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Serengeti National Park
Following an early breakfast we'll drive from Migombani Campsite to Serengeti National Park. This route will take you through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, allowing you to see the Ngorongoro Crater along the way (a breath-taking view indeed). Also, expect to encounter plenty of wildlife during this drive as there is sometimes a significant concentration of game on the southern plains. You see, the Serengeti is home to more than just huge creatures. Over 500 different bird species have been identified, from the enormous ostrich and strange secretary bird of the open grassland to the black eagles that swoop gracefully over the savannah. That's what makes this wildlife "sanctuary" magical. On the journey, you will stop for a picnic lunch before continuing on with your journey and arriving to Nyani Campsite in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a breathtaking natural wonder in northern Tanzania, renowned for its iconic Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. This vast protected area encompasses a diverse landscape of highlands, savannas, forests, and volcanic plains, teeming with an abundance of wildlife. The crater itself is a sanctuary for a remarkable concentration of animals, including the Big Five: buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, and rhino. Beyond the crater, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area extends across the Serengeti plains, where millions of wildebeest and zebras embark on their annual migration. The area is also home to the semi-nomadic Maasai people, who coexist harmoniously with the wildlife, adding a rich cultural dimension to the region's allure.
Serengeti National Park
We hope you're excited for today! We'll be in the park all day long. At dawn, after a light breakfast, we'll set out and begin our journey. We will go on a full-day wildlife drive to explore the Serengeti's stunning surroundings and look for the Big 5. After the spectacular morning game drive, we'll go back to the campsite for a cooked lunch before leaving for yet another breathtaking late afternoon game drive. The Serengeti is home to more than just huge creatures. Over 500 different bird species have been identified, from the enormous ostrich and strange secretary bird of the open grassland to the black eagles that swoop gracefully over the savannah. That's what makes this wildlife "sanctuary" magical. That being said, we'll keep on looking for wildlife in the Serengeti, then head back to camp for some delicious dinner and a rustic night's rest after a day well spent!

From conception to completion Goldfinch proved a very reliable ally in this family Safari adventure. Booked in March 2025 for travel in December Kelvin was always ready to deal with any requests and amendments to the schedule. Our party included 4 adults and two girls aged 10 and 5. Met by taxi at Kilimanjaro airport on morning of 18th December and seamlessly transported to the Forest Hill hotel in Arusha for a days rest before commencing a 5 day safari in this beautiful landscape. United with our driver/guide Swahiba on the morning of the 19th we were to spend the next 5 days in his delightful and knowledgeable company as he transported us through four parks in this region Lake Manyara, central Serrengeti, Ungorogoro Crater and Tanganire. Swahiba w is a wonderful character and became part of our family during these few days he had a wonderful interaction with the children who engaged easily with him from the get go and he was sensitive to all their needs as you can imagine how it might be stressful for them at times. Staying at wonderful preselected accommodation all unique and wonderful in their own rights made this a very memorable trip. One of the many highlights was the balloon trip at sunrise over the Serengeti after a night at the Safari Haven camping lodge. Organised by Goldfinch and supplied by NYSSA balloon company it was one of the highlights of our trip. Many thanks to Kelvin and his team at Goldfinch I cannot recommend them highly enough the memories will live on Brendan Ball (co mayo Ireland)

We booked a 13-day honeymoon between Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar through Goldfinch and loved every minute of it. It is, without a doubt, the best holiday we have ever had, and everything, from the hotels and flights to the itinerary, was tailored to perfection. We had a 4-day safari across the different national parks and spent the rest of our time in Zanzibar, which was perfect for relaxation. Edina arranged everything from a hot air balloon experience to our hotel preferences. The safari was amazing. Truly out of this world, with an expert guide (Frankie) putting us at ease at every turn. He also seemed to be very aware of the animals and didn't do anything to make them feel uncomfortable. Some drivers go too close or spook the animals, but Frankie was amazing, giving us ample time to see while also being aware of the wildlife around him. The accommodation, especially during the safari, was amazing, unique and suitable in every way. Edina had arranged everything so it was all very smooth. Our hotel transfers, flights and everything in between were seamless, and the hotels were very good overall. The camps, in particular, during the safari were amazing. In Zanzibar, we arranged a last-minute trip to Stone Town, and Edina was able to put it together with a few days' notice, merging our trip to the airport with a day's tour and a guide (which we only realised on the day that we had). Well worth the visit and well worth getting a tour when in Stone Town as it meant we didn't get hassled. One of our only regrets was that we didn't initially carry enough cash to purchase/visit tribes, etc. - so if going, make sure you take cash. If you are on the fence, my only advice is to book this and thank us later. What a holiday! Thank you Edina, Frankie and all involved in such a memorable holiday!

Our camping safari with Goldfinch was just great. The organization of the tour was very professional from the beginning. The young team is absolutely sympathetic and pays great attention to the safety of their guests. Our guide Isaac has a lot of safari experience and was able to introduce us to the wilderness in the protected areas. He knows a lot about the behaviour of the animals, which also has a positive influence on the sightings. We were two as women with guide and cook on the road and always felt safe and courteous. Every day there was very tasty food from our chef, who always served new delicious, even traditional food. We can recommend Goldfinch Adventures without exception!

I recommend Goldfinch (GF) without hesitation. I contacted five safari companies with identical enquiries, yet only two replied — and Brenda at GF responded immediately, which was a very lucky thing for us. She was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and crafted the perfect itinerary. When I later asked if my 93-year-old father could join, she liaised with the camps straight away, and every adjustment was handled flawlessly. The camps themselves were stunning, and the staff were amazing — they even adored singing and dancing with my dad, which meant the world to us. Our guide, Ludo, was exceptional, and we were fortunate enough to see the Big Five and so much more. Thank you, GF, for an unforgettable adventure and memories that will last a lifetime.

Our safari with Samuel and Goldfinch Adventures was truly exceptional. From the very beginning, he impressed us with his professionalism, deep knowledge of the animals and environment, and his warm personality. Samuel always knew where to go and had an incredible eye for spotting the animals, which gave us unforgettable encounters and views. What we appreciated the most was how much effort he put into making sure that all our wishes were fulfilled. Whether it was finding a particular animal, explaining something in detail, or simply creating the perfect atmosphere, he always went the extra mile for us. His patience, kindness, and genuine passion for nature made the entire journey even more special. Thanks to Samuel, this safari far exceeded our expectations and became an adventure we will never forget. We highly recommend him and Goldfinch to anyone who wants the best possible safari experience.

We have had the most magical safari experience, that way exceeded our expectations! We booked through Goldfinch Adventures, after a recommendation from a friends friend. A little sceptical at first as it’s a relatively new company. However, they went above and beyond to make our first safari memorable. Brenda organised our whole trip after discussing our needs and interests. She provided a perfect itinerary. We started our safari in Arusha where we were met by our lovely guide, Seleman. He was polite, friendly and knowledgeable. He drove us to The Serengeti and ensured we got to see every animal on our wish list including giraffes, zebras, elephants, lions and cheetahs. After a full day animal spotting we went to our lodge for the next two nights. We opted for the luxury Moyo tented lodge. The staff were friendly, entertaining and the lodges were beautiful. The meals were all delicious and plentiful. After two days at The Serengeti we headed to Ngorongoro crater to see the black Rhino, lions, elephants and hippos. We were very fortunate to have Seleman as a driver as he was brilliant at spotting the animals. In the evening we were taken to our second tented lodge, Angata camp. This lodge was simply incredible, with the nicest staff, fabulous lodges with some of the best food we have ever eaten. It was like fine dining in a tent with a 4 course evening meal! Both lodges were amazing but this last one was something else and highly recommended! After another full day drive in the crater we headed back to the airport where we met Brenda again. She came with gifts for us all, which was a pleasant surprise and much appreciated. Overall, this was a once in a lifetime experience that could not have gone any better. Goldfinch Adventures go above and beyond your expectations. They ensure you leave happy, wanting to return and do not disappoint. Look forward to another trip with them in the future.
