After a safari briefing in the morning and an approximately two-hour drive, you will arrive at Tarangire National Park. Giant baobab trees, bush savannah, and seasonal marshes add to the wonder of this nature reserve. Tarangire is considered one of the best places to view elephants up close. The park is also home to buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests, which are always closely followed by a range of predators such as lions. Leopards are seen now and then but cheetahs are rarely spotted here. From the open roof of the safari jeep, you will be able to absorb the landscape and watch the animals. In the late afternoon, you will leave the park.

This park is the largest in Tanzania and has a diversity of habitats and landscapes—short grass plains, savannah, thick bush, swamps, and lakes. Bizarre rock formations called kopjes dot the grassy landscape. Predators are often seen here. The Serengeti is famous for the yearly migration when hundreds of thousands of wildebeests and zebras trek to find fresh grass and water.

After an early breakfast, you will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife. Supported by a year-round water and food supply, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is home to a vast array of animals, including herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park are its predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopard—which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. Many flamingos, hippos, and other water birds can usually be seen here. In the late afternoon you’ll transfer to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

The park is also famous for its tree climbing lions. During the safari you will also see elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, and many other animal species. Our safari with Kisambi Tours was absolutely unforgettable! From start to finish, everything was incredibly well organized and personal. Our guides, Mike and Dieter, were true professionals. Not only were they extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of the national parks, but they also went above and beyond to make sure we got to see the Big Five (and more!). Their passion for wildlife and nature was infectious, and they made each game drive feel like a new adventure. A special shoutout also goes to Elisanthe, the owner, who was always available both before and during the trip to answer any questions or solve any issues. Even after the safari, when we realized we had forgotten something in the jeep, he made sure we got it back. That kind of dedication really makes a difference. If you’re looking for an authentic safari experience in Tanzania that also supports the local community, Kisambi Tours is the way to go. We couldn’t have asked for a better journey. Highly, highly recommended!

I went on safari with my boyfriend in July 2025 and we had the most incredible adventure exploring Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngongoro National Parks in 6 days. Our experience was unforgettable also thanks to our guide Eric. He was professional but also friendly and his understanding of the wildlife, landscape and local culture made the trip both exciting and educational. If you're planning a safari, we highly recommend it.

We have been to Africa for the first time and this is our first safari. We couldn't have asked for anything better. Our guide Dieter was exceptional. He accommodated all our requests, even taking us on a safari at dawn for more days. He was very patient and kind. Thanks to Dieter we were able to see all the big five in addition to the beautiful landscapes. He also gave us many explanations about the various animals and the local culture. We recommend this company and the guide Dieter! We will definitely be back and will rely on him! Thanks again to Dieter and the company for making our experience awesome!

  • Excellent experience as a solo traveler

Tanzania Safari on your own? I kind of thought I was crazy to do this, but a friend who has done Safari 3x said it is her dream to have the truck entirely to herself. And now, I understand why. I have never felt so spoiled. If you are thinking about a Tanzania or Tanz/Kenya Safari, I can highly r Kisambi Tours & my guide, Elvis. It was a dream. We saw the big five +++. Elvis has 20 years of experience and knows exactly where to go every day. He does not listen to the nattering on the radio, people call him because he has 20 years of friendships in the Parks. He made sure everything was perfect and is terrific company. The trucks from the big companies looked crowded & uncomfortable. And when I was in the hotels and camps, people that were on long tours in big groups said there were some fractures in the groups & people not getting along. It's a hot & dusty AMAZING experience, so my very small group of just me and Elvis 🤣 got along just fine! The owner, Elisante, checked in with me on WhatsApp often, to make sure everything was going smoothly. I'm quite sure the big big companies do not do that :-). If you're thinking solo Safari, do it. I'm so glad I didn't book with a tour company. I'm so sad it's over, but so glad it happened ❤️🦛🦓🦒🦁🦏
