At 5,895m (19,340 ft), Mt Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest peak and this adventure along the Marangu Route will get you to the top safely, quickly, and with your budget in mind. Overnight in mountain huts and awake ready to conquer the slopes. Affectionately known as the Coca-Cola Route due to its popularity, Marangu covers forests, moorlands, and the Saddle (a high-altitude desert), on its way to Kibo Hut. This is the quickest route to the summit — with a catch: The trail is well-maintained but because of the quick ascent, the success rate is not as high as other routes. Local guides, cooks, and porters will provide support during your trek and at mountain huts along the way.

  • Kilimanjaro climb, safari, and city visit in Moshi

I recently spent a fantastic summer with a Tanzanian company based in Moshi that organized my Kilimanjaro ascent, followed by a tailor-made safari and a visit to Moshi town. Wenceslaus, the owner, and the entire team were reliable, precise, and clearly passionate about what they do. Kilimanjaro ascent: Our guide Opti and their team of porters and cooks were outstanding. They led me to the summit with dedication and care, and their teamwork kept the climb smooth and safe. The summit has been reached witout problem: we are not here to try! Personal attention: Wenceslaus personally helped with transfers by car, making the logistics seamless and stress-free. Safari and city visit: After Kilimanjaro, they arranged a safari exactly as I requested and organized a meaningful visit to Moshi town. Overall service: The staff showed real commitment and spoke with clear professionalism throughout the trip, making the experience unforgettable. Would I return or recommend? Absolutely. If you’re looking for a well-coordinated, passionate team in Moshi that can handle climbs, safari arrangements, and local sightseeing with reliability and heart, this is a great choice.

Most friendly staff. From Porters to cooks, guides, and finally Mr Wence the organiser! All went well from when Wence met us at the Hotel Lux Palace to meet and greet. The senior guides were led by Mr Msafiri, Rama, Allan, and the Junior guide, Mr Ronald. All did a commendable job ensuring that our team's needs were equally met. Even though some of us didn't seem to obey the rules of not running towards Kibo Hut, we managed to summit on Sunday, December 15th, 2024. My team is super excited about all the coordination and support. The porters did a good job ensuring that all our luggage was handled professionally. The cooks led by Pascal all ensured that we got 5-star meals on time. Keep up the good job team.

The porters, guide cooks made sure we were made to feel comfortable as possible during the challenging climb. It was an amazing experience difficult to put into words. Respect to the people that took such good care and made the journey up the mountain filled with humour. I was suppose to make this journey last year for personal reasons couldn’t. Intrepid made sure the deposit I paid last year was deducted from the trip this year. Wence lovely guy warm kind and gentle. Intrepid make sure aur needs were met at every point under the circumstances. A very biiiiig thank you to Wence and Team I loved my experience, returning next year as I will be better prepared and Mount Kilimanjaro is calling me

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro has been on my bucket list for a long time and I intended on ticking it off before my 30th birthday. Initially planned a trip of more than ten people but a month to the agreed date everyone had backed out. Since I had all plans in place I went ahead and decided to climb solo. I wasn’t quiet sure on how I will survive when my mental game starts testing me but the Intrepid Explorer team showed up and showed out. I am thankful for the patience and encouragement that they gave me during the dark hours as we approached Gilman’s. I am pretty sure despite the little energy I had left I won’t have made it without their push. Their packages are affordable and they supply proper equipment and kind staff who are passionate about walking this life milestone with strangers. Thank you for the beautiful experience Intrepid Explorer. Keep up the good work and be sure to get referrals from me anytime.
