I had a wonderful 3 nights in the Bale Mountains with my guide Awol and his team organised by Armaye Ethiopia Tours. Everyday we saw something new and eye opening. The camping was great and we were surrounded by lots wildlife including many sightings of the Ethiopian Wolf - also the food cooked at the camp was delicious. Amraye was very flexible and accommodating to my schedule and tailored the trip to my specific dates. Armaye also recommended me a guide for my next stop in Harar which turned out great also. I would recommend anyone looking for an adventure to consider Armaye Ethiopia Tours. Thank you for a great trip.

Honestly Ethiopia was not he reason we traveled to Africa but ended up being the highlight of our trip. The Bale Mountains and the people we encountered there were all delightfull. Prior to our trip as well as during it Armaye was quick to answer any questions we had and went above and beyond to help us with whatever we needed (Pro tip: Binoculars are not allowed to be brought into the country!!). Once arriving in Goba from Addis we were greeted by Awol (trip lead) and driven to Dinshu to begin our tour. Coming from Alaska we were very comfortable with the remoteness of the area but it was still a very foreign land. Awol and Idris (camp cook) made us feel comfortable and safe the entire trip as both were local to the area and knew the lay of the land intimately. The provided camping equipment was very appropriate for the environment and made the below freezing nights comfortable. We saw both of our target species on the second day of our trek, the blue winged goose and the Ethiopian wolf (great views and encounters with both). We have nothing but great things to say about the team Armaye put together and highly recommend a trip with his company to any adventurous travelers out there!!

Ethiopia’s landscapes are stunning in the Bale Mountains. Trails are fully located in the wild and nature. A guide was helpful, and facilities were placed in natural setting —worth for nature lovers. We had amazing time even facing high altitude.

It was a great trip all in all that was very well planned. Our guide Awel was very knowledgeable and extremely kind. He went above and beyond to make sure all our needs were met. I did not feel unsafe during the entire trip and Awel made sure to wait if any member of the group struggled with the pace of the trekking. A big thank you to the entire team for a memorable experience!

Armaye is a professional caring local company who uses caring local people on tours I was a single white older female trekking the Bale mountains and never once felt uncomfortable Armaye was easy to communicate with and was flexible and knowledgeable to get the right tour. The tour value is exceptional. Once picked up from the airport my guide Awol saw to everything. He is a local man who cares deeply for the mountains and it shows. He had vast knowledge of the fauna and flora and shared this easily in his excellent English. His eagle eyes picked up all sorts of animals and birds I would not have seen and he was intuitive in setting paces as we changed terrain. Idris the chef produced hot fresh meals on a single burner in the wilds and I am in awe of him Our porters we polite respectful organised and efficient The whole trip far exceeded my expectations I cannot recommend Armaye and his tour company enough Thanks you

I booked a tour with Armaye Tours in december. Process of coordination was easy. Armaye booked all inner flights for me himself. Later my flight to Addis Ababa was canceled, so I asked to reschedule the trip. I am glad that it was not a problem. Armaye rebooked flights and rearranged the team on site. The tour itself was great. Bale mountains have many nature zones with different views and fauna. So you will get many differents sights in the same trip. We came around 45-50 kms up and down around the area. But you can discuss the difficulty The guide was superb. He spoke great english and had big experience. So I got lot's of knledge about local life, traditions, and about local nature of course. He was ready to customize experience base on my interests and desired trek difficulty. Also food and camps were great. All in all it was great experience, kudos to Armaye and guys for being able to reschedule everything and provide great trekking experience. And don't forget the sunscreen creme for the mountains =)

I went on a 2 weeks private tour with Armaye as my guide in November/December 2023 and the organization was excellent. From the initial enquiry over the last few years! until I was safely back home, Armaye communicated quickly, clearly and accurately. He was very flexible with the itinerary too being open to amendments, which I did twice. This was my 2nd trip to Ethiopia and it was much better than my first one in 2009. My interest was mostly with mammals and planned my tour accordingly, which took me to Bale Mountains (Harenna Forest, Sannetti Plateue, Gassay), Hwassa, Lake Langano. Awash NP and Alideghe Game Reserve. I found all my key targets and the sightings were sensational. He even knew where to find a pack of the endangered Ethiopian Wolfs! His knowledge on where to find wildlife enabled me to get some great pictures and films. We had a very nice driver and, for a few days, also a brilliant cook and both spoke excellent English and were really good company. Additional guides with local knowledge were waiting for us where needed. All worked like a swiss clock and the only time I needed to use money was for some few personal expenses. I will for sure be back again as the country offers a lot. I could not recommend Armaye Tours more.

My wife and I did a 10 day Bale Mountains tour with Awol, who was an incredible guide. The whole tour was so well organized, all the guides, drivers, cooks, and horsemen, were absolutely incredible people. We saw incredible wildlife in such unique and beautiful landscapes, including warthogs, monkeys, endemic mountain nyala, ethiopian wolves, and abyssinian owls. It was the trip of a lifetime! Don't be afraid of Ethiopia, the entire trip felt so easy and so safe, you will not regret it!

We had a last minute change of plans for our trip to Ethiopia and stumbled upon Armaye's tours in the Bale Mountains in a frantic search for an alternative destination. He had excellent reviews so we reached out to him about a 3 day tour of the Bale Mountains. He was very responsive to our questions and flexible with our timeframe. Armaye and his team were incredibly knowledgeable about Bale Mountain's history, plants, animals and people and spoke great English. They were unbelievably patient with our (tons of) questions and intuitive about places where we would want to linger or stop and take photos of the sights or animals. If you are visiting Ethiopia and want to have an outstanding nature and cultural experience, we highly recommend Armaye and his team!

I did a Bale mountains 6 day hiking and camping tour, before the tour the correspondence from Armaye was first class, he sent me many messages and answered all the questions I had, promptly. The tour itself was organised really well, Bale mountains is a very tough environment and not for the faint hearted but I enjoyed the unique wildlife and challenge that the tour brought. I also asked Armaye if he knew a guide in Harar, he put me on to someone who was fantastic and made my time there brilliant. I highly recommend Armaye tours
