I had a wonderful week in Azerbaijan and can not add enough superlatives for Baku. Great, safe and clean city. It lights up at night just beautifully. My guide Savalan did not load up the daily program with too many things leaving for plenty of personal time to explore on my own. The day trip to Gabala and Shaki proved to be very long. I recommended to Savalan that it become an overnight in Shaki allowing for more time to explore, shop and otherwise enjoy. While Baku can be a bit pricey in the tourist area, prices are generally reasonable to very reasonable. The food in Baku is a wide variety ranging from high end steak houses to fast food. My hotel was in the Old Town which added to the visit. You will not go wrong with this tour. A truly wonderful week on the shores of the Caspian Sea.
