From beginning to end this trek was absolutely wonderful. It was definitely the most challenging adventure I have ever participated in, but very rewarding and so much fun. The guides, porters and entire Soraka team were excellent, encouraging and supportive. I am very grateful to Soraka for the wonderful experience. I am still overjoyed by this amazing journey, my successful achievement and the beautiful views along the way.

The hiking was amazing. We finished the barranco route in just 6 days. Our guides Baltasari and Baraka was so grateful and friendly. The food and the accommodation was excellent. I never forget it in my hole life. The good vibes I keep in my heart. It was a pleasure.

the trip was great! the whole group made summit of Kilimanjaro with the guide and porter assisted. They provided logistic and secured service start wake-up to evening tent time. In the summit day, the guides and porter carried some luggage belongs and emergency oxygen between base camp to top. They even made two cakes for two members birthday during the trip. The group leader displayed his leadership in the mountain trip.

I joked to my friends that I was going to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro "to find myself and have some adventure." I wasn't sure what to expect - it ended up being both (1) the absolute most challenging thing I have ever done and (2) one of the most impactful experiences of my life. The actual hiking/climbing itself is not easy, although completely do-able if you train appropriately. I found that it was the weather that I struggled with the most - Kilimanjaro is known for being completely unpredictable. My trip included pouring rain most days, mud, and strong winds accompanied by icy, blowing snow on summit night. However, facing and overcoming these challenges while surrounded by the most diverse and unbelievable beauty and nature is an ineffable feeling. I've grown as a person and gained clarity and perspective on many aspects of my life. Most importantly, I can't say enough positive things about Soraka Tours. The guides (Baraka and Victor) were beyond experienced and knowledgeable. They say they prioritize safety first, and I can absolutely attest that is the case. The porters were all incredible workers as well as phenomenal human beings, and you really get the feeling the team functions and respects each other like a family. The company adds small touches that really make a difference (i.e. hot water bottle to warm your sleeping bag at night, "tea" stops every day during the hike). If you're looking for a challenge and some personal growth, I highly recommend Soraka Tours and Mt. Kilimanjaro. Just be prepared - it is definitely a journey!

I joined a group in Dec 2022 and we summited Christmas day. I chose to attempt Kilimanjaro to honor my late husband and to say a final farewell to him. Baraka was the head guide at the time. Everyone in the group knew this. I took in this challenge inspite of some health risks. Baraka checked in many times during each day. I managed to summit at Stella Point and raise our final family flag in memory of Gideon because he made sure I had the support and encouragement I needed in spite of having bad altitude sickness that ended up me being rushed back to base camp and arranging him arranging a helicopter to get me off the mountain. He never left my side once I was back at base camp. He made sure I was picked up safely. I believe Baraka and his team saved my life. I salute you Baraka.
