  • Full tour of many destinations, exciting landscapes but slow pace, much (too) free time

Tour with guide and driver that I did alone without being put in a group with other travelers. Every day an exciting journey in the Mongolian landscapes to a destination, which began in the Gobi Desert and then ended with the destinations west of Ulan Bator most frequented by tourists. The Tuul guide and the Erkha driver were exceptional and are very knowledgeable about the territory, fundamental for the type of trip chosen. As I am used to, however, I would have preferred a more “focused” tour to optimize my travel days: often in fact we left at 8.30 and then stopped for lunch at some inn on the road and arrive in the early afternoon (14:00) at the destination of the day. Then, after the visit, the day already ended in the tent camp at about 15.30, in the case of the dunes of Piccolo Gobi ended even earlier, at 14.00, with many free hours without anything organized to spend waiting for dinner (about 19.30 / 20.00). In all that time I would have preferred to make an additional journey instead of inventing something to do to cheat time. Often other travelers arrived at the tent camp much later than me, even the same travelers I met the night before in my own ger camps, and in several cases confirmed that they had made tours “richer” than me. The suggestion I would give to the organizer is to also offer a concentrated version of this beautiful tour, because although the journeys between one location and another are long, the concentrated program would be feasible, and several tourists would be much happier to see more things in one day instead of wasting time sleeping in the ger camps. The last ger camp where I spent the night in the dunes of Piccolo Gobi absolutely needs to be changed: tents with “western” beds inside, no sheets or blankets on the mattresses, broken table unusable in the tent: a very low level compared to all the other beautiful and traditional ger camps on the tour. Overall a tour that I still suggest to those who do not want to do too many hours by car and who love the afternoon nap.

What an amazing tour. We experienced horse riding, camel riding (included in the tour) and I saw a very nice cute eagle too (plus other amazing attractions). Our meals were great and some of them were arranged in restaurants which was quite nice. The driver is so caring that I saw him cutting wood in one of the coolest evening and later I found that those were for us at the night. The guide is also amazing. He is knowledgeable, not even for Mongolia, plus he was taking a great responsibility and care of us (tried other one day tour it wasn't really like what he did). No doubt to join this one. Or any tour from this tour company. They are doing great, honest, and respectful to every customer . We had a wonderful memory during the trip in Mongolia and highly recommend them.   It made us want to go Mongolia again ^_^
